I just don't get, if you are asking a friend who leaves you a message 'see u around' to a place, they "insist" its a date. I don't get it, people help me here and just confused, what is dating? why is it such a big deal?

People want to feel loved. Its a status quo that you MUST have a bf/gf nowadays. It's stupid, I know. But it can be good. Sometimes, there really are people who start really nice relationships.

Dating is one-on-one time with another person where it is open to both people that romantic feelings are felt, and it generally implies that they will become romantically involved. This usually involves several occasions of "going-out"

The big deal? Felling wanted. Fitting in. Having someone you can always talk to. Having a "life". Its merely a quo, but it can be a good thing if taken seriously. Hey, maybe you'll date you're future spouse!

The main reason is that it is officially like a trial of a new relationship. Most people just ask their friends out to the movies and pretend they arnt on a date, and just act like it is.

Dont pay too much heed to it, its just a womans way of saying they are interested in ya

just because u plan to meet someone somewhere it doesn't mean it's a date. now if the asker indicates it's a date then it's a date.
