no, fasting will slow down your metabolism and the only thing you will lose is gona be water weight and muscle
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You would be a rare case indeed, if fasting for a few days harmed you. Just do it!
Fasting Vs Feasting is as simple as going left or right. Fasting is one step towards anorexia whereas Feasting is one step towards obesity or gluttony. We need to do a little of both to stay in the middle of the road.
However, a 's l o w' fast is best, just the same as a rational feast. You will attain your perfect health (and hence your best weight and body morphology) if your daily regimen includes just a little less than your appetite demands, and your feasts are always done in moderation.
Target good health, not weight loss. Healthy people are not obese, and they are not diet freaks either.
It works for me!

You can fast safely with copious water intake, but introduce
food very carefully...starting out with teaspoons of fruit juice
and very soft foods like cottage cheese, puddings, etc.
You'll be able to lose more weight however by eating 6 times
a day to boost your metabolism. Make it small amounts of
solid protein like chicken, turkey or fish. Accompany this
with lettuce (cider vinegar on top), green veggies and a
small piece of fruit daily and you should lose about 7 pounds
a week.

You should really only fast for up to 3 days at a time, any longer and you will risk damage to the body.... eat 600 calories a day and that will make it so whatever excercise you do will go directly to your fatness and get rid of it....

If you are going to fast, make sure you are doing exercise at the same time for weight loss. If you just fast alone without exercise, your metabolism will auto-adjust itself to the lower amount of calories you are taking in (it will drop into the toilet), then when you go back to your regular calorie intake, your metabolism will take a while to play "catch up" and the extra calories will be stored....... weight gain!!!!! The exercise will keep your metabolism rate high while you are cutting back on calorie intake, thus you will burn stored fat weight instead of dietary calories to maintain your metabolism.
