There are so many it is hard to pick one favorite. And depending what is going on in my life or what I am studying in Bible study, it changes!

I just came across this one in bible study this week and it made me realize that it is an admonition for us to maintain our testimony no matter what comes our way:

"When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained." Revelation 6:9

In a day and age when Christianity is being bombarded from all sides we need to hold fast the Word.

"Now I make known to you brethren the gospel which I preached to you,
which also you received,
in which also you stand,
by which also you are saved,
if you hold fast the word which I preached to you
unless I preached to you in vain."
1 Corinthians 15:1,2

I don't have a favorite Bible verse, but I do love Psalms because it tells just what I'm feeling and gives me the comfort I need, and Proverbs tells me to get my butt in gear and do the right thing. :)

Exodus 35:2- "Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death."

I like it because it shows the hypocrisy of all Christians that do not follow this verse while in the same breath insist that the bible is THE word of God. Either it is or it isn't, so either forget your stupid bible or start mowing down Wal-Mart employees on Sunday in God's name!

There are many others...

Psalms 33 - 16/17

"A king is not saved by his great army
A warrior is not delivered by his great strength
The war horse is a vain hope for victory
And by it's great might
It cannot save".

It fit in with the Viet-Nam thing, but maybe not so much in this more recent war. None-the-less, it holds great truths. At least for me.

Psalm 118:6 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me.

It reminds me that no matter what happens to me or whoever is against me the Lord is for me. I have my place for eternity while this life will pass. I find it comforting, I am safe because the Lord is on my side.

Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." (Matthew 10:34-39 NASB)

I love this because it shows how blood and sacrifice is needed to spread the message.
