Do you agree that instant messaging is...not great for talking to people you have a crush on, people you like? I feel like there is no way to really tell emotions, and the smileys don't quite cut it.

Or, do you think it's great for that kinda stuff?
Explain, what do you think??

I think its great for starting relationships, but if you have something important to say, it should be in person.

Do you agree, instant messaging? Yes it is allowed.

Do you agree that instant messaging is...not great for talking to people you have a crush on, people you like? Yes, because it doesn't show your true and real emotions.

Or, do you think it's great for that kinda stuff? I think it is ok to use.

Explain, what do you think? I am an emotional person and my emotions for real go up and down once something triggers my mind about an issue and i get very sensitive about it because i am a sensitive fragile person. But using instant messaging sometimes does help me when i need sometimes good to rely on. Because i can't rely on my friends all the time.

Sometimes it can be quick and convenient if you need to say something but are not in the right place, or have the time to talk. In certain circumstances I think it may be okay for conveying emotion. If you send a text such as, I love you. That can be very special and there can be a lot of emotion conveyed in those words. On the other hand for a new relationship I think it requires a lot more talking and getting to know one another, and in that case it would be nice to have actual conversations, it’s a lot more personal. Sometimes things can be misinterpreted in text messages, you can’t always convey deeper emotions that can be detected in tone, depth and rate of speech so you may not know how the person means what they are saying.

I think it's a great way to get to know someone without the physical distractions. Plus, people generally feel less self-conscious when they're not in person, and can open up just a little bit more. However, I do agree that emotions and inflection can often be lost over the internet.

I think it's good to a point. I think its great if your shy or if your just getting to know someone. On the other hand its bad because you get comfortable talking on-line and then you feel weird talking in person because you don't have the ease of sitting behind a computer screen. Also your right you can't tell emotion which isn't great

I think that I really can open up and explain myself much better in a IM. I dont know quite why but I find that writing is a strong point and I am able to get my point across much more effeciently. My bf loves when we talk on the IM. He says that it opens my heart up to him in a way that in person it just doenst. Just my opinion.

I think that if you are talking to someone you like by instant messaging them that it is only good if you are to shy to talk to them in person. If you get a loss of words around them then building your confidence talking to them this way is good.On the other hand if you can talk to them openly like you talk to any one else, then you should definitely stick to face to face talking. You are right, it shows way more emotion and works out a lot better in the end.For me personally, I would talk face to face.

lol, well i've talked to many of the guys I've liked online before and I think it works out pretty good, because a lot of time I'm too shy to talk to them in person or I'm not good enough friends with them to call them. Hey, you gotta admit the smileys are cute lol.

Istant Messaging is good especially if your shy and you are not sure if you want to really meet someone. But with IM you can chat and find out more about somone before you really meet. So if you want emotions meet face to face but if yur shy IM is good for you.
