he has not pooped all day or vomited. all he did is pee on the kitchen floor twice. he is usually an outside dog but brought him in to observe him

he has been drinking pedialite. the one answer could be a possibility of his swallowing something he shouldnt have. but that wouldnt cause him to quite eating would it????

What sort of dog is it?
Is it vaccinated?
Have you walked it?
A puppy needs to be wormed every 2 weeks until they are 3 months old, which your is.
Then every month until they are 6 months old, then every three months after that. He could have worms so it wouldnt hurt to worm him again. Worming tablets are not a prevention, a worms takes 3 months to hatch inside the system which is why its 3 monthly recommended. your killing worms it already has not worms it may get.
they also need to have 3 needles, which you probably already know. So if you have taken your puppy out for a walk it may have picked seomthing up. Parvo lies dormant in the ground for about 8 years so if you have walked you dog in a spot where another dog has had parvo then it can be contacted. keep an eye out for diaorreah, particularly bloody diarroeah, vomiting, coldness and just unusual behaviour
Puppies cost lots of money so i hope for your sake and his he is not sick.
Also, dont change his diet all the time trying to find something he likes. Buy one brand, preferably puppy food, and stick to it. it takes their digestive systems a while to get used to the food so if you keep changing all the time he will never get used to it.
Owners change food all the time because the food gives their puppies the runs or makes them vomit when the truth is they just need time to adjust.
if he likes the chicken and rice keep it up but dont expect him to scoff it down in one go. Offer it to him 4 or 5 times during the day. make sure he gets lots of water.
It would be better to see a vet. Explain to them you have no money and they might be able to work something out ofr you
Good luck mate i hope he gets better soon!
Im just adding to my comment.
Everyone can give you info on here but it really is best to see a vet. I know you have no money but the longer you let it go the more it is going to cost. I know vets are expensive, i work in one, but you can probably work something out with them. Take him today!
if he has swallowd something he shouldnt have he woulndt poo or eat and he is not pooing or eating. if it goes to long he may start vomiting aswell.
let me know how it goes.

Wait- you stuck an 8 week old dog OUTSIDE?? Are you insane?? Anything could have happened out there! The first thing you need to do is seriously rethink why you bought a puppy and stuck it in your backyard.
Puppies are naturally sleepy and sensitive. If he's been outside, he could be extremely dehydrated, he could have gotten heatstroke, he could have swallowed something, or it could be something like worms or parvo. It's going to be nearly impossible to figure it out without a vet, but here's a few things you can try:
1. Nutri-Cal for Puppies. It's a high calorie glucose/vitamin gel you can buy at Petsmart. There are other brands called Energel and similar names. It's basically vitamins mixed with corn syrup. Puppies are very prone to hypoglycemia, which makes them sleepy and unwilling to eat. Nutri-Cal will help perk him up, and then he'll start eating. If he won't take the gel from you, open his mouth and put a little on his tongue so he has to swallow it. Just use small amounts, it's very sticky.
2. Get a children's medication syringe from your grocery store or pharmacy. Make him drink some water or Pedialyte once every hour. Don't use too much at a time, just enough to keep him hydrated.
3. Try ANYTHING to make him eat. Chicken, boiled hamburger, canned puppy food (make sure it's nothing from the recall list!), meat baby food, replacer puppy formula (walmart or petsmart), whatever works. At this point, nutrition can be sidestepped in the interest of keeping weight on him. You can go back to feeding him healthy after it passes.
4. You need to tell us what you were feeding him. Many pet foods have been recalled due to contamination, and if your dog was fed tainted food, he MUST see a vet or he will definitely die. If you can't afford a vet, maybe you would see if a rescue shelter will take him, treat him, and find him a new home. I know it's not preferable, but there is NO way to cure kidney or liver problems caused by tainted food without a vet's help, and kidney/liver failure is always fatal.
5. If he vomits or has diarrhea, you can give him 1 mL of Pepto Bismol per pound of body weight to clear it up.
I suggest you start with the Nutri-Cal and syringe-feeding him water. (Be careful doing that by the way, let him more or less drink it from the syringe as you slowly press the plunger in, if you squeeze a bunch of water straight into his throat he might inhale it and choke.) Rehydrating him and getting him some sugar should great improve his condition, provided it's not something serious like poisoning or parvo. If after 24 hours of water and Nutri-Cal he hasn't improved, or has worsened, you need to make some decisions about how to get him veterinary help.

your pup needs to get to a vet.
There should never ba an excuse I don't have money they are living if it wre a child would you find a way??
if it's worms you might want to start to just take a stool sample in this should only cost under $10.
A lot of states have laws that if an animal is needing a vet and you don't get it then you can be taken to court.
If you need to turn hm over to the SPCA or animal shelter where they can take care of him.
i'm sorry if this sound harsh but I never let an animal go more than 3 days before going to the vets. my vet will set up a payment plan with me or sometimes I even volunteer.

does he smell? parvo has a very bad smell. If your dog has parvo he will smell bad and be lethargic. he will have a high temperature (you can tell this by the tip of his ear), throw up, and have bloody diarrhea. If it is parvo get him vaccinated and start him on pedilyte and pepto bismal
Is he bloated? you can always tell a puppy with worms because his stomach will be very bloated, and he will strain to poo. If it is worms get some pills from the vet (the ones from the pet store are not strong enough) depending on how bad it is he might need a couple doses
I have had puppies die from booth parvo and sever worms. good luck

hIs he still drinking water? If He isn't your in trouble
Does he have a fever? Normal for a dog is about 101 degrees.
Is he vomiting or having diarrhea?
Is there any evidence that he chewed up something and swallowed it, like a toy, rawhide chew, or a piece of your slipper?
Did you just now take him from his litter mates or his mother so that he is depressed and lonely?
If he doesn't have any of the above problems keep offering the chicken and rice.
What kind of dog is he? How long have you had him?

i dont mean to be rude, but if you dont have the money to care for a pet properly, which includes vet care, you probably should not have him. however, parvo includes bloody, very smelly diarhea,so i doubt its that. he could have worms, but symptoms would not come on suddenly. how long have you had him? has he had his puppy shots? have you recently switched foods, increased his exercise? has he been exposed to any sick dogs? if you just got him, he could possibly be depressed, missing his former place. are his pulse and respiration normal? there are just so many possibilities. many cities have vets that give low-cost or free services to low-income folks. you might look into that. good luck

If you cannot afford medical care for your dog you need to get it in a new home immediately. Get it to a local shelter. While it is young it can find a new home, and they will give it the medical attention it needs. It is illegal to not provide care to your dog.
