Here's a very simple answer...reduce your caloric intake and increase activity.

The long answer... If your basal metabolic rate is 1500 calories go from there. There are ways of determining it but I'm not at home and don't have access to my medical books but I'll do what I can for you...you can probably find a formula on the net. Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the amount of calories required to keep you alive and functioning normally...if you are active then to maintain your current status, you would eat more and if you are not active and eat more than you need, you gain weight. Depending on how many calories you take in more than your BMR you can gain weight. A gram of fat is 9 calories so a typical 270 calorie candy bar is 30 grams. No matter what you eat, most foods not immediately used for energy is converted to fat. Now if you want to lose that tummy fast, you have to do two things...take in less calories and burn the fat with aerobic exercise (anything that basically increases your heart rate...simply stated). Don't sacrifice nutrition. You are still growing and developing and you still need vitamins and minerals, etc. That's about it...outside of liposuction.
