Unfortunately, sweetheart - the butterflies are the first symptom of 'like-lust-infatuation', but it 'ain't love. smile. Love is a funny thing. It takes years sometimes for people to know they 'love each other'. This is something new for you. You like this guy -for whatever reason - he may look good, smell good, have a nice voice, many friends, dress well - whatever - but you have not said anything about 'him liking you'. You don't want to be hanging out there all by yourself. You have to reel yourself back in and look at the big picture. Have you spoken to him? Do you share classes? Do you have similar friends? If any of these responses are no - then you have a long way to go. Talk to him. Ask him about books, sports, family, friends, anything to find out where he is coming from. He may be a jerk when it comes to talking to people - and he may be the knight in shining armour that you obviously think him to be. You have to do something - it's not love - not yet.

Its kinda hard for someone to explain what love is to someone. I guess you dont truely know until you have experienced it for yourself. Based on the whole butterfly thing, then yah its pretty obvious that you definately like him aaaalot!
Maybe think of it this way: Do you have feelings where you dont know what you would do without him? Does he make your world seem better? Would you sacrifice big things on the line for him? Could you picture being with him for the rest of your life? If any of the above are true, then you may just be in love!!! Just remember tho, always be careful to think things over before you make big moves when it comes to romance!!!!

No I don't think you are in love!!! Love isn't about how someone makes you feel. I can't stress that enough! Remember that you can also think about someone you hate all of time!!! I think you are young and are infactuated with a young man. That doesn't mean that over time it won't form into love. But remember this: love is kind, patient and unselfish. It is forgiving. It doesn't keep track of right and wrongs. It is unconditional which means that if he broke your heart and slept with your mother you'd still love him. You may be too young to feel that now, but hopefully yoo two will stick around longe enough to fall in love!!!

This does NOT sound like love.. it sounds like a crush. Love is about a lot more than all that. It is an indescribable feeling that you get and you just KNOW for sure that you love him. You don't even need to question it.. you are just positive that you want to spend your life with this person.
You cant force yourself to fall in love and it sounds to me like you are trying to convince yourself that you are in love. Sometimes people tell themselves they love someone because they think it makes them more mature or something... but its perfectly ok to just like someone and date them. You grow into love!

you'll know when you are in love with him. RIght now, i think it is infatuation. Like the other people on answers told me, once infatuation dies, either the feelings dies along with it, or it turns in to love.
Love to me is more than just a feeling. It is a promise to always be there. It is a deep feeling of care and understanding.

it could be true love or it could be puppy love/teenage love. it takes a long time to actually love some one.
