I think the policy varies between school districts, but I believe it is whenever you've missed enough days and they have to fail you. Ask one of your school's academic officials or look in your school's handbook (if they give you one) for specifics at your school.

Its usually like 20 or something. It's not the actual missing of school days, its when you lose credit for the classes you took, and you have to get the credits by taking the summer classes. Check with your school or in the school handbook.

When and where I went to school, summer school had nothing to do with being absent. It was for those who had failed a classes and needed that class to move on OR it was to get ahead and take classes you wouldn´t have time for during the normal school year...driver´s ed, P.E. and typing were popular.

this is the sort of question for which there is no universal answer. you should check with your school, b/c each school would have its own rules on this sort of thing. yahoo answers is not just read by people at your school, but from all over the world.

Depends on your school district. Go to their website and look in the parent handbook. Or you can ask your guidance counselor.

at my school it's 20 days a year.

which is enforced on a 9-weeks grading period system, if you miss more than 5 days each grading period, you fail that grading period,

if you fail a class... kiss your summer goodbye.
