Please no one get riled up...I'm just curious.

For those that accept this idea (creationism):

Why do you think God created humans so similar to other animals species? We share so much in common, especially with other mammals. Why do you think he would have done it that way?

Again....not being offensive. Just curious on your thoughts.

*Sigh* I guess I will have to include examples. We share the same types of organs and systems. We have hair and tailbones. Some animals have opposable thumbs.....

Just to name a few to help you out.

interesting have not heard this Q.! super!

Our body is but the body of an animal - a beast. It is our mind - spirit - soul that sets us apart from animals.

Don't let fudie fundies fool you and tell you differently.
Read below how the Bible says this!

Ecclesiastes (Qoh) 3:
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

Not really a difficult question...Since all have similar needs, then all the organs would be similar. if it needs to see, then it has an eye. If it needs to eat, it needs a way to take in nourishment, prepare it for use, absorb it into the system, and then excrete wastes. So, mouth, stomach, intestines, and anus all work, and since they do the same jobs, they'll all look the same...

But I don't believe in a literal creation, as in Genesis, just dropping off an answer after 6 long, hard, and *boring* years being trained in a Fundamentalist Christian High School (and I *wish* I was high for it)

Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!

the similarities are because that is the best forms for living that's it the easiest to repairer to build the most simple yet most complex at the same time and our similarities may be only of the surface at the DNA i have read thous who say we are close to monkeys are flat wrong they compare 3 % of the total strand now think about that like this if you were headed north and wanted to go 300 miles strait north to the bubble but your compass was off by 3 degrees by the time you went 300 miles you would be very far from where you wanted to be God made use to Look like Him in the spirit first not the flesh our flesh is of this world so it needs to be in a functional formation to this world and according to the Bible it is a fallen world we see that all the time our bodies may all so be very affected by this fact a perfect body may be very different then our are now

Sure, humans are similar to apes in certain aspects, but they are two different species, just as compared with every other creature. Each species of creature has a different strand of DNA and information.

I am one Christian who believes that God created everything, every creature and every one. I also believe that evolution is the mechanism of God's Creation. Science itself, is God's gift.

Nothing about science in general or the theory of evolution in particular disproves divine creation. It does seem to make it unlikely that things happened precisely, literally and in the time line many interpret in the Bible. But with an all knowing, all powerful God able to create the laws of physics, it is certainly possible for God to ignore those laws.

But I feel sorry for people who spend time looking to prove their truth with science or those that endlessly parse every scripture to deny the emperical world in front of our eyes. No one has the whole truth. There is mystery in science, there is mystery in faith. I find it easy to put my faith in science for things that enrich our lives and the irresistible fun of discovery, as well as putting my faith in the Lord for the things I can not know and are for me to discover in the next life, God willing.

The differences are much greater than the similarities.
I do not believe any other creature possesses sentience (self-awareness), and no creature (animal) other than man is capable of fellowship with God.

You can tell a Monet from a Rembrandt by the brush strokes. These are the strokes God chose to employ.

When one designs bridges, and builds them.

He makes most look different, but uses the same material for each one. Am i right?

And why is chromosome #2 fused exactly where it would have been if humans branched off from a common ancestor of modern apes?

Why is the eye intelligently designed with a blind spot, that kills or injures thousands every year in accidents?

It's really useless to argue about science with those who reject it.

I don't really buy into creationism because if we were "created" in his image, then how do you explain the difference between modern man and the neanderthal? And where are the dinosaurs?
