I think that the less painful death is that which you know you have been done your best in your life and you feel that you don't have anything to change in your life, no matter if you die in a car accident or while sleeping the less painful death is when you have a clean concience and peace in your soul, so if you want to die in this moment, it must be you have done or have lived a painful and hard life so, I recommend you to improve your life and wait for the time of death that sooner or later will arrive. An overdose of opiates with a bag over the head to reduce oxygen as you fall asleep is the least painful euthanasia. Dying in your sleep while you are not aware of the body process would be my next best guess.

Freezing to death is supposed to be the least painful way to do. Once your organs start shutting down, the person feels very warm, comfortable and sleepy....and then death comes.
But you really suffer before you feel warm, comfortable and sleepy.

I would say when you die in your sleep it don't appear to be painful my step father passed in his sleep and he had a smile on his face.

Carbon dioxide toxicity is painless, and considered rather sweet.
Don't end your life whatever your problems are, even if you think you have no more reasons to live!
