It would help to know you are coming so they can help you look through the dresses. Saturday is typically pretty busy at a bridal shop. If you have any photos of dresses you like take them with you. The designer dresses are great but you might find one in a local boutique that looks just like it much cheaper.

I never made an appointment for any place, just walked right in. Somewhere like David's Bridal asks that you do, but I was a walk-in and had someone helping me within minutes. It really doesn't matter. I suppose it's a bit more courteous to make an appointment, but I don't think it really makes a difference. Either way, they're usually quite happy to help.
Best of luck !!

Some really good places to look would be Marshalls, and Ross Dress for Less if you are on a budget. Go to some specialty stores like Dilliards, David's Bridal. I don't see them being crowded try going on an awkard day and time like Monday at noon. Even take a special day off from work to do this, because it is your special day, Also make sure you know someone that can sow and take up a dress real well

Yes, usually on the weekends those places or busy especially with Prom coming up too.
Make an appointment if also, if you like who helps you at the store stick with that person!
Make sure you see that person everytime you go back.
I went to the store I bought my wedding dress at several months later to order Bridesmaid dresses, and didn't ask for the same person...needless to say I got the worst treatment even though I told her I bought my wedding dress from there and ended up going to another store for the rest of my wedding attire.
Good Luck!!

Definitely try to make an appointment. If you don't, you may not even get to try anything on. Don't go to David's Bridal. Their dresses are made of cheap synthetic material and aren't worth your time. Go to a smaller boutique that carries designer gowns but go for the less expensive ones (like Watters Brides). Good luck and don't listen to the saleslady... she'll tell you that you look great in everything and try to make you buy an ugly $400 hair clip!

Some places let you walk in, but David's Bridal ask that you make an appointment so they can help you better. I would call a couple of places that you guys are thinking about going to and see what they say.

Appointments are necessary. Also, do you really want that many people with you? Couldnt you make your own decision? I am worried you will be confused with all their opinions. Usually the people at the store are more objective and knowledgable. Well if you must go with them, then when you actually select the dress later on, maybe you can be by yourself. That is the ONLY way to shop. Best wishes

Saturdays are usually the busiest day for bridal stores. I would call and get an appointment. Ask to be measured and write it down, and even if the worker seems weird, she may turn out to be great. And I would hit another store besides, David's Bridal. They were rude and hateful to me. Then a friend went and they did her the same way.

You do not need an appointment. Make sure you bring a camera and have someone photgraph you in the various dresses. I did not realize how good I looked in certain style dresses until I saw the photographs. It helps in choosing the perfect dress.

Some places require an appointment but some do not..You just have to call up and ask. Make sure you where shoes easy to get off and on...most require you to take your shoes off to even look at wedding dresses to make sure they are not stepped on and destroyed.
