I really need to grow my nails out, they just look horrible. But I have a problem with picking them when I am nervous or just bored. I have tried keeping nail polish on them all the time, but I pick that off too subconsciously. They also don't grow very fast... Any ideas?

chew gum all the time, that way u will be occupied so u wont think about biting your nails

Apply hand lotion so you taste it and avoid biting your nails. Also keep your nails short until you break this habit or wear nail polish. Some people just have flexible nails. Here are some ways to get them into better shape.
I used to have soft, peeling nails so I stopped using a nail clipper and only use a nail file to shape and shorten them.
I also started protecting my nails with thicker moisturizers.
I use a cuticle balm or nail oil to moisturize my nails and protect them from water since I wash my hands frequently.
(ex. Solar Oil, OPI Avoplex)
Vit E oil, jojoba oil, Aquaphor Healing Ointment, Vaseline or plain Chapstick will work too.
Some people swear prenatal vitamins help hair & nails grow faster. (You don't have to be pregnant to take them - they are just a special formula w/ higher levels of certain vitamins.)

i had the same problem...& what i did to take care of it is go an get my nails done..not a manicure but get acrylic, i like the way they look & dont wanna mess them up so i dont bite them! plus they cost money, so i wouldnt wanna b wasting my money!

get fake acrillic nails and leave them on until you con see your real nail growing behind the fake nails..by then they should come off easily

wear fake nails and they will grow and you cant really bite those

do you like someone, or love or whatever? just imagine that everytime you bite your nails they are looking at you thinking ew that is nasty! it works trust me
