Hey, I am going through the same thing right now..My 2 year old is trying to be potty trained, so this is what I did, and it is actually working....I got a BIG poster board, and I designed it, and I put "Baby's name Potty Chart" then I put Tee-Tee (1) sticker, and Poo-Poo (2) sticker....I tell her if she tee tees she gets one sticker and if she poopoos in the potty she gets 2 stickers....Then after she potty, I clap my hand, do a little dance, say yay, you potty like a big girl...Come on let's go get your sticker, I let her choose which sticker she wants and give it to her, and she puts it on the side of the chart that she potty.. For example, if she teetee, she puts it on that side...Sometimes, I catch her straining her hiding in a corner trying to poo, and I tell her, no, let's go use the potty, come on, hurry...That works sometimes....Good Luck!!!

Yes, I have soooo been there. My daughter basically trained herself to pee-pee in the potty, but the other was a different story. She refused to do #2 for about 6-8 months after she trained herself on #1. I bribed her, bought the "reward" stickers, pleaded, but NOTHING worked. So I BACKED OFF. I allowed her to just do the deed in pull ups for the few months. I stopped pressuring her, and one day she decided on her own to start using the potty for everything. Really! She was finally toilet trained around 3/2 years old. Good luck.

My 2 and a half yo daughter had the same problem. She would hold her poo and was terrified to poop on the toilet. She would even get a diaper and ask us to put it on her so she could poo! I would tell her no, she was a big girl now and she could go in the toilet. It took a while and we did have to put a diaper on her once or twice just to relieve her pain since she absolutely refused to sit on the toilet! I finally got her to poop on the toilet by leaving her naked or with just a dress on (nothing underneth) and that helped. The way i got her to do it consistantly is to reward her with gum...yeah yeah, i know its not the best, but it worked!!

Do you stay in the bathroom with her/him? My 2 1/2 year-old son tells me "Shut door please" when he is sitting on the potty if I am trying to get him to poop. He likes his privacy. Just make sure the toilet paper is out of reach!

Try and get him/her on a schedule. like make her/him sit on the potty every time he/she eats. Then once he/she does the do give him/her a lot of praise!

Start simple, offer more water to drink (not dairy) and offer more fruit and veggies. My child needed a very high fiber diet to train her how to go #2 comfortably.
