The best way to stop any habit is to have something that you do every time you swear. In my experience, people who use money as a deterrent, tend to pay into the jar just so they CAN curse, and don't feel good about it. The jar story tells it all. A YEAR later and the guy is still paying into it.
I had a thought that may work for you...buy yourself a small bracelet, or wear a watch. Every time you swear, you have to move the bracelet (or watch) to the other hand. Let your students, friends, family...anyone in your life, that you are doing this.
The reason I say this, is that habits are notoriously hard to break because they become unconscious. You do them out of habit, and have no chance at stopping them BEFORE they happen. If you have the bracelet, it will normally be in your field of vision. So when you are going to curse, you can probably see it out of the corner of your eye. If you do swear, the people around you will remind you to swap wrists...this is another incentive to not do it next time. This way, everyone in your life will focus on what you say more carefully (not a bad side effect for a teacher), and remind you to switch.
Wearing a watch will be even MORE of a deterrent, because you have to unhook it, rehook it, AND anyone will agree, that wearing a watch on the arm that you are not used to will drive you CRAZY. It will take less than a month if you get everyone involved. I am giving you a money-back guarantee about this. GL...XOXO...Kes

You could always Fine yourself for each curse word you use...
Make a list of the curse words you wish not to say anymore and assign a fine to it and pay the fine each time.
I had a teacher that cursed a lot (that was a longgggg time ago) he had a jar on his desk and each time he cursed he would pay into it. - Get your students involved and others around you. The jar my teacher used was welded shut - anyway to make a long story short the money he put into his jar in the class room was used for a class party at the end of the year. But he did cut down a lot.
He apparently swore more at home because he had enough money in his jar at home to go on a months vacation out of state
The next year he had the same system in place however he didnt have to pay into it nearly as much.
Good luck on your endevour

Anytime a person wants to change anything about themselves, it takes a conscious awareness at all times to make that change. Think about the things you say before you say them and make yourself aware of how you want to change this. It will take some work and it will take time. Be on your guard and be patient. It takes at least 21 days to make something become a habit so it probably takes that long or longer to undo that habit. When a person puts their mind to do something and sticks to it consistently, anything you want badly enough can be done. So hang in there and get 'er done!

i know it ought to sound incorrect yet on occasion you ought to motel to the previous alongside with, soup in the mouth. i understand from adventure my youthful sister began cursing around 4. We positioned warm sauce on the top of her tongue or pepperoncini juice (the two very heat). Punishing them, getting rid of there total room on occasion works or merely writing "i won't be in a position to curse in college or domicile" approximately 200 circumstances ought to do the trick. yet you could ask why they're cursing? the place did they get it from? tell them its filthy and would not seem nicely coming from one among those excellent-looking/suited toddler like themselves. infants frequently use cursing while they're youthful simply by fact of their ecosystem domicile, college or merely merely somebody jogging previous. while they become older, they experience its style of a efficient ingredient (in case you feed into it and get offended while they are saying it) while the toddler is older its frequently rationalization for acquaintances or simply by fact they think of its cool, while particularly its not. desire I helped a splash.
