Pastor Billy says: persona Christi! only men darling because Jesus Christ was man not unisexual. Let me ask a question, can men be mothers? no and this why women are not priests. Women have another vocation to fill. This is a doctrine that cannot be changed sorry.
cynical it's not about wanting, it is a calling to be a priest or nun or brother.

Women are the true human beings. The fetus begins as a female, and only if poisoned by the high testosterone levels associated with a Y chromosome does it become deformed into a male. Males are less healthy, die sooner, commit more violent crimes, fill our prisons, and start virtually all of our wars.
Now that I've said all that, it should surprise no one that I PREFER female priests. Women are more empathetic and MUCH less likely to do horrible things like molest children, as a scary number of male priests have done. It was the pedophilia scandal that forced me out of the Roman Catholic Church about 4 years ago -- I just couldn't stomach it -- and I'm considering becoming Episcopalian, where they at least have the good sense to ordain women.
Oh, in case anyone's interested, I am male myself. It's not my fault; I was born this way....

Women had equal status with men in the early Church and in later movements such as the Cathars they did also.
There's nothing in the Gospels about women being inferior. Even in Paul there are references to important female leaders and teachers in the early Church.
There is no good doctrinal reason why women should not be priests. Genesis says that God created man in his own image "Both male and female created he them". So both men and women are created in the image of God. To therefore exclude women is unjustifiable and misogynistic and, presumably, against God.

No, I think female priests are okay if they're young, hot, and wear an open-front robe with a shelf corset that presents their firm, round breasts to the congregation as an icon of fertility, much like the pagan religions that Christianity usurped to get their start.

When men fail in their responsibility to act as spiritual leaders or fail to actively exercise the authority assigned them by God, some women will quickly and overtly step into positions of power and authority, whether or not it is scriptural to do so. There is no scriptural basis for allowing women to be in authority over men. This idea is not popular today, so many churches have come to allow it so as not to be perceived as sexist or prejuduced against women.

When I was in college, the priest that taught Ecclesiology strongly felt that we would see women as priests in our lifetime. Unfortunately, as changes in the Church started after Vatican II, they were snatched back almost as quickly.
There is NO reason women should not be priests.

I'm Roman Catholic and I don't see the reasoning behind not having women priests.
It's just an old tradition that the Church refuses (for now) to change.

"Fine. That makes priests of BOTH sexes that I won't listen to." - Bill Hicks
Seriously though, my religion does include female priests, so this isn't an issue for me. Some Christians though have told me that the men-only tradition stems from Jesus choosing all men for his apostles.
Well, whatever. It's not my problem. I'll let the Christians sort this one out for themselves.

NO. Jesus founded the Nazarenes on the belief that women and men are equal before God, both in their spiritual abilities and rights as leaders.
See:

This enraged the male-only spiritual establishment of the Jewish High Priests and they made sure in their parasitic religion of christianity that women were considered worse than domestic animals.
Paul of Tarsus who fronted the false religion of christianity hated women and hated everything about the gnostic teachings of Jesus.

WWJT - What would Jesus Think?
==================================
Jesus would be disgusted that Catholic apologists, pr agents and spin merchants keep using his name falsely to claim that women are inferior to men when it comes to being priests.
Jesus I'm sure hopes that one day, all christians will wake up from such sexism and embrace the 21st Century.

Why not? I don't see any reason for it. Nothing in the work(itself) of a priest requires a certain gender.
