I mean no disrespect to religious people but would like to hear responses. Why did people believe Jesus and not reject him?

They'd think he was crazy unless he started making blind people see, lame people walk, and dead people come back to life. Then they might think he really IS the son of God.
Even without those miracles, though, a person wouldn't necessarily be considered crazy for claiming to be the son of God in first century Judea. Claiming to be the "son of God" in that context is just the same as claiming to be a messiah--a king of Israel.

Well, Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda is claiming he IS God, what does he sound like?
Actually, we would persecute such a person just as we persecuted Jesus.
I believe that Jesus had to say those things to get the attention of the people. He was trying to unite people in peace and practice the golden rule. He was wise beyond his years and he knew what the future would be like. He may have said he was the son of God....people will say a lot of things to get attention. Point is, we create our own Heaven or Hell on this great big green Earth. We can live like Jesus or we could live in our own evil hell. We don't have to accept anyone as our savior or as the son of God. In all reality, I think that the antichrist is the government and people everywhere fail to see the big spiritual picture.

Many people would oppose him but many people would also believe. We know that Jesus Christ will inevitably come to destroy the works of the devil. Yet we also know that if someone is claiming to be Jesus Christ this very week they are either a liar or a lunatic. Matthew 24 in the Bible which is the only authoritative word of God tells about the signs and wonders that will occur prioir to Christ return and about the false prophets and people that are in this world right now claiming to be Christ. Unless you read the Bible for the truth and accept Jesus Christ as Lord, many people will be fooled and eternally damned, it's so sad but so real.

I agree that I would look to see what miracles He performed. While there is no doubt that many saw the miracles of Jesus and did not believe, the fact that He still has followers is a resounding statement that He was truly seen as the Son of the Living God.

Actually, the established religious higher-ups DID reject him, which is why there are still Jews today.

They might start believing him, if he cured people of blindness, lameness, withered limbs, insanity, and leprosy, all without using lengthy hospital stays.

I know this sounds crazy but there's already some man doing this, and has many followers like a million. I think he lives in California with a wife and drinks I am not trying to be funny, I saw this on 60minutes, or one of those programs about 6 months ago.

I am not a religious person but I have to say that people would think him crazy. Sad but true.
Just some food for thought on this one...you hear of "mentally ill" people saying they are Christ or God or such and people say he/she is off the meds...You never know off... the meds or speaking the truth?

It is a Greatest Paradox !
1- If Jesus desended from Heaven to Earth by Virgin Mary - By that He is Divine Human vs Common Human (us)
2- If Jesus desended from Heaven to Earth by Mary & Joseph - By that He is Human with Divine Power in Blood & Flesh
I just can NOT reconcile
Have to ask people who wrote the Bible !!!

Can you declare yourself to be a God man, without having the divine weightage? Then obviously you are crazy. And that way there are many crazy 'saints' in this world.
It is for us to gain when we worship the divine. Jesus doesn't want us to give him a certificate. He wants us to follow Him.

Well, many men have already done that. But to be Jesus a few things would have to be proven, wouldn't they? Jesus proved who he was numerous times. To long of story for this answer though. And, btw, his second coming will be needing the same proof.
