Humans have little or no adaptations that make them anything but dead meat if they were stupid. Intelligence is the ultimate adaptation for survival. Ask any biologist (particularly the devoutly monotheistic ones) which animals live the longest and have the most offspring, smart ones or stupid ones.
Intelligence has no survival value is your proof of god? That's...ugh. Your Fellows in God are most likely wishing you'd've kept this opinion to yourself because you're just helping out the other side. Oi.

From that which we have decended, intelligence did have a survival value. We are physically inferior compared to most mammals. We have no fur to protect ourselves from the elements, we're no where as strong as most animals of our size, and we can't run fast. We can see in the dark particularly well, and we can't smell or hear nearly as good as nearly every other mammal on the planet.
The only reason we have been able to survive is because of our intelligence.

Actually, it does have survival value. For humans.
First: Humans are not the strongest animal, in fact, we're actually pretty weak. We're not the fastest runners, in fact, we're one of the slowest. We have virtually NO tolerance to the elements. We're susceptible to many diseases. Our SPINES aren't even designed for walking upright. (That's why so many people have back problems.) If the human race didn't have intelligence to help us figure out how to survive, we would have died out a LONG time ago.
Second: There are varying levels of intelligence amongst all the animals of the world. ONE of them had to be on top, and it just happens to be us. Simians, dolphins, and dogs are high up on the list, too.

intelligence has absolutely no survival value?
Then how did weak fruit-eaters without claws or poison take over the planet, made almost every large species extinct, changed the face of the earth, etc?
I understand that you would die of hunger if there is no McDonalds within a mile. But that's not b/c intelligence has no survival value, it's b/c you got no intelligence.

Intelligence has absolutely no survival value? Is this meant tongue-in-cheek?
Then why has a mediocre subspecies of hairless chimpanzees, not the best tooth 'n' claw fighters, not the biggest, but merely the ones capable of abstract thinking, who basically rule the world?

I hate to break it to you but evolution is PROVEN FACT. just like the dinosuars. You don't really belive somebody just grabed a bunch of bones and made up this stuff do you?. Look I believe in God and Jesus Christ but I am also smart enough to figure out the truth. As for intelligence YOu might want to read Genesis a little harder. When Adam and EVe bit the apple they begot knowledge.

rofl. You're so full of it.
Intelligence is not proof of a god. Dolphins are intelligent too. So is your pet cat. So is your dog. So are many other animals. If they weren't, they couldn't LEARN things. Don't believe me? Why then can you teach a dog to bark on command? Why can you teach a dolphin to jump through hoops and play with a ball? Why can you teach a cat to turn on a light or go to the bathroom in the toilet?
Honestly, is there something wrong with your head?

Intelligence does appear to have survival value -- for our species. It took intelligence to fashion clothing, enabling the move to less warm climates.
It took intelligence to fashion spears and atl-atls, bringing in high protein food. (In hunter gatherer societies, chicks dig the best hunters).
