Do you have already got Norton or yet another Anti Virus programme on it? as quickly as I have been given my Inspiron it had Norton pre-put in and that brought about some issues on the commencing up. at first, i'd pass with the aid of all your documents and folders and function a stable sparkling out. be conscious your reminiscence - is all of it used up? Then do a disk defrage (below initiate>upload-ons>gadget strategies. AVG is a stable loose anti-virus, which all my pals in IT use. It won't sluggish your computing device down and you do not would desire to enhance. by applying the way, is the computing device working slowly each and every of the time, or basically once you're online?

McAfee and Norton are two of the most well-known, with Norton probably dominating the market. You can download Ad-Aware and Spybot free. Not so for Norton, but when you consider it is for a full year's protection, it's not so bad. If you keep checking the ads in your local paper and do some searching online, you might catch a deal. I recently bought a two-license subscription with Norton for $9.99 (it was a one-day sale).

Here is a good deal (5/14/07). Just be sure to get the CD and product key.

Staples sometimes offers virus programs for purchase that w/ the rebate cost you nothing (I guess they want you in the store).

Try downloading avast! it is excellent, but it does not play well w/ other anti-virus programs.

Download spywareblaster ( and pay them $9.99 a year and they will update you atutomatically). It runs underneath, you don't have to run it each time.

And the computer probably comes w/ Windows Defender anyway. Set it to update the protection automatically.

Also download Ad-aware, it gets rid of those pesky tracking cookies quite well.

Good luck!

AVG has a full suite of free anti-virus, anti-adware and anti-spyware.

Also, put a decent firewall on there (don't rely on the MS firewall. I recommend ZoneAlarm.
