I think you need to quit trying to self-diagnose yourself and look at other factors that could be contributing to the changes. As you are maturing there are obviously hormonal changes going on. Also, how much caffeine do you drink during the day, how have your social contacts changed, your school environment....there are many factors that need to be considered before you decide that you have ADHD. Do not be fooled by those who say that ADHD is not a legitimate disorder -- it really is -- though very often mis-diagnosed and too early diagnosed. I would suggest you talk with a counselor or someone who could help you with this, but start with looking at your life and the things that could be affecting it first.

Good luck!

You need to talk to your school counselor, your parents and your doctor. My son has ADHD and is on meds that help. I have ADHD as an adult and never took meds. I just know I need to concentrate and focus and work through the day. This may be what you have been doing until you hit puberty. Puberty will change the chemistry in your body. So go talk to some adults that can help you make the right choices. Good luck.

I dated somebody who 'supposedly' had upload, back whilst there became into no 'H', and that i think he became into misdiagnosed as I additionally believe that many toddlers are regrettably misdiagnosed. i think some mothers and fathers accessible do purely not discipline their toddlers (and discipline does not recommend spanking or punishing, I mean guiding them via existence), those mothers and fathers are egocentric and on no account communicate or play with their toddlers whilst they're youthful and so the newborn grows older and develops those psychological traits that are outdoors the social norm. i don't believe it has to do with nutrition habitual in any respect. 7. Yup, i'm very familiar with Ritalin. in short, detrimental effect. i ought to kind away till my hands bleed telling you the way i think approximately Ritalin. It does lots extra injury than stable whilst given to a affected person that doesn't have an extreme case (and according to danger, a affected person who could be misdiagnosed). Ritalin suppresses urge for nutrition, reasons temper swings, would reason melancholy and aggression, regresses the sufferers skills to make logical judgements because of the fact the concepts is extra "trance"-like and extra genuinely stimulated. stable success on your document! i'm hoping you get an "A" (or passing score) ;)

Having all the symptoms doesn't nessisarrily mean you have the disorder. It's a genetic thing, not a mental thing anyways. It has many benefeits, physically speaking (something a co-worker with ADD told me, he's less prone to a bunch of other deseases because of it).

You could be uninterested in the schoolwork you have, you could be depressed, you could be a hypercondriac, you could be normal. If it's a concern seek advice from a professional and discuss it with your parents.

Rarely do people with ADHD make it until 14 before they are diagnosed. You may be anxious or overwhelmed. Puberty can be hell. Talk to your doctor or a counselor---and no ADHD is not a myth

ADHD is a fairly new diagnosis. frankly it was invented to help keep kids under control. you are already 14. now is an amazing time to start practicing self-control. the children who are taking meds for ADHD don't all have it (I know a few personally). all that said - if you go to a doctor and are persitent enough you can get meds for anything. don't self diagnose. after all that time researching ADHD, you should now search out ways to teach your self to focus and calm down when needed.

You should discuss your concerns with an adult, whether it be a parent, school counselor or school nurse. it is great that you your self recognize that something is going on. Therefore you will respond well to treatment. In the end you will need to see your doctor who will refer you for an evaluation. Good luck.
