well i think that you should do something that would make you happy, and in choose a career you should weight the prons and cons.and in the end ,you should be happy .and never do anything for the money.because that would not make you happy, in the end.so always remember that .thing seem unsure at times but as time goes by ideas will come and you will see thing clearly. good luck.

Ask youself these questions. What are you passionate about? What will make you happy? Whatever that may be or you think that may be, start there. You may hit a few walls but if you persue your passion you will probably be happier in the end. Now back to the real world. It can be difficult to be succesful as a chef because there is alot of competition out there in the culinary field. I pesonally have a passion for cooking. However I make a very good living as a mortgage broker. Do I have the courage to leave that profession and persue my passion. These are questions that you don't want to ask yourself later in life. Don't worry about the years in college for any degree because as l0ong as you stay focused it will payoff. Always be doing something to get you closer to your goals.

Hope that helps

Being a psychiatrist requires first a medical degree and the biggest hurdle is qualifying to get in to medical school. To qualify for medical school you ordinarily need a perfect 4.0 grade point average in college with a lot of emphasis on sciences--organic chemistry, biology, etc. It is very hard to do this. Plus, they like you to have outside interests and accomplishments and awards as well. But on the good side, if you actually can get in to medical school, it is relatively smooth sailing. Being a chef is serious hard work but of the two careers, I would chose being a chef because getting in to medical school is so difficult.

Just listen to your heart. Whatever makes you happy will make you happy. You do not want to do something that makes you not happy or you'll be miserable and have to start all over again.

Do a test run with each occupation.
