No. Because it might have ibuprofen or tylenol in it and if givin the wrong dose the dog can become extremely ill such as causing rapid heart rate which could cause the animal to go in cardiac arrest, or even shut down the kidneys which is caused by over production. If your dog has a cough it could have been introduced with another dog that has kennel cough. I would take it to the Vet, if not treated correctly he could get worse and may die. The best preventive medicine to prevent it from occurring is getting the Bordatella vaccination or nasal induction at least every 6 months. Based on The Veterinarian research company.

I think that it MIGHT work on the dog but most likely it won't do anything or just make him sicker...
Why not ask the vet about the robitussin.. the vet will almost definately end up prescribing medicine for the dog that are MADE FOR DOGS
dogs catch different viruses than humans and these symptoms might be something totally different than what the Robitussin would help kill in humans
To be safe: just make a simple phone call to the vet...

Does your dog have a prolonged cough, has it been happening for a while? If so he might have kennel cough which will need some medication.
Otherwise do NOT give your dog human cough medicine. Some human medicines are oK to give to pets but this is definately not one of them. Humans like additives in their medications to reduce inflammation and pain (acetaminophen and the likes), which don't metabolize in dogs the way they do in humans. What you would consider a normal dose or even a low dose could potentially kill your pet.
Monitor your dog and if this is a persistent problem it will have to be seen by a vet.

If it is Kennel Cough Yes you can give your pet Robitussin DM (ONLY) to help suppress the coughing but he still needs to be on meds from the vet.

please don't give that to your dog! Just get a vet check and take him in. He may be getting the start of upper respiratory. Its no big deal just a dog cold. You should also try and keep him away from other dogs, so that they dont get the cough.

Yes, dogs can have cough juice to lessen the symptoms and make him feel a little better.
Bear in mind though, kennel cough is not like our human cough. More often than not, it is accompanied by bacterial invasion.
My vet always prescribes a course of antibiotics in such cases.

Don't ever give your dog human medication unless told to by a vet.
That's a very dangerous thing to do.

Giving your dog something without talking to a vet, would be detrimental to your pet.. you should ask a vet, not stop here and ask these people..
