Maybe it is time to go back to the doctor, or to a different doctor .. one who believes people shouldn't suffer. You have my sympathy. Good Luck.

I have osteoarthritis in my right knee due to an accident I had at work. My Dr. prescribed antiinflammatory pills for me. I am currently on Meloxicam(a form of celebrex) for which he monitors me closely. I am relatively free of pain with that. If you would rather go a natural route try cod liver oil pills. The oil lubricates the joints. I also rub my leg at night with Deep Ice Therapy Gel.

If you have been diagnosed with arthritis then this is not unusual. You will have good and bad days. Since you did so much walking over the weekend now you have to rest the knee.

I have the gout. It has been attacking my knee today. In the past it has done exactly what you describe. I suggest Aleve. It works for me almost as good as Indomethicin that cost $150 per 100. Try it, if you are able.
