I have been with 8 guys in my life time but that was by the time I was 16. When I turned 17 my now husband asked me how many partners I had and I was not sure how he would react to 8, so I said 2. To this day he still thinks it is 2.
Do you think he really needed to know the truth? I don't want him to compare himself to them. (Who knows he might not like my replies sometimes)

I think I said 2 only because he was with no one else.

Hello no! Ask him how many partners did he have? It's a trick questions. Guys can't handle the truth about that.

Hi
I dont think it matters how many guys you have been with before you met your husband. It might have been best to be honest but if your husband is open minded then he may be ok with you telling the truth.

When my partner asked me how many guys I had been with before I met him i told him 4 when it was really more like 8.
I think I was more arfraid of what he might think of me considering the "s l u t" stereotype

I dont think it is all that important for him to know the full truth about how many you have been with.If you were careful with the guys you were with and did not contract anything that might potentially be passed on to him as a result then I think its ok.

It also depends on you. Its obviously bothering you so maybe you should tell him for your own piece of mind.

He probably only asked out of curiosity.
Did you ask him the same question?

Good Luck!

well 8 by 16 is ALOT... i am far from a prude and most will tell you i am the most open experienced and wildest woman sexually you'll ever meet... but i would think that maybe somewhere you felt like 8 really was alot by 16 and lied in the fear of being judged by him.
I doubt he would compare himself to "them"...i mean thats much more a "girl" thing...i think perhaps he would have made prejudgements
about your morals and character.....
Yes i think if you are to have a honest real mature relationship lying is completely inappropriate....

bottom line, if you lied about this ...what else are you lying about...trust me it will come up just as that....

Well it is kind of scary that you don't trust him enough to be honest. It has nothing to do with how many people you have been with, if you trust him with your life and your soul and your heart, you should be able to trust him with personal information. I was with a lot of guys before I got married and my(now) husband asked and I was truthful. You can't have dishonesty in your marriage, no matter how small you may think it is. As far as if guys ask, do they really want to know...I look at it like this, they asked, if they didn't want to know, they shouldn't have asked. I will tell them the truth and if they can't take it, well then they are not for me. I would expect nothing less of them to tell me the truth.

What you did before the two of you met is none of his business, really. He can ask and you can tell him that it's none of his business. But you lied. Now you know why you shouldn't.

Does this come up a lot? If not, what's the problem. If it does, WHY????

Better sometimes to let sleeping dogs lie! In other words, why fix something that isn't broke?

You know what would have made this real simple for all of you? Just don't have sex before you are married. hmmm Maybe that is too simple. You should tell him or it is going to keep weighing on your mind until you start doing stupid stuff and justifying it because you have already lied.

I never answer that question. I just say that's personal. My past is my past and I only share the parts I choose to. It's too bad you lied to him and now he's your husband. If you feel the need to come clean, do it. Honesty is important. However, if it never comes up, I don't see why it should really matter.

Dude! First of all, you were a frisky little teenager, huh? Second of all, DO NOT tell him, he doesn't need to know this. As long as you haven't developed any signs of an STD from one of those guys, keep it to yourself. Actually, better yet, change your memory...people can do this if you try hard enough. Convince yourself it was only 2 and live that way forever...he does not need to know this now or ever.

No - it is really none of his business. You don't need to share every single detail about your past - besides it happened before you met him so why should it matter. Keep it to yourself.
