Yes, it would be helpful to know the gender, color and personality of the kitty.
Cricket was my first kitten as a child. She had a funny purr, therefore the name.
Stormy was a stray cat who showed up on our door step, you guessed it, in a storm.
Gerri was a kitten we found in the street. I had a dog named Ben. Therefore, we now had Ben & Gerri. (She was a girl so I named her after Geraldine Ferraro.)
Clancy got his name because he had huge green eyes and I simply thought he should have an Irish name.
Minks and Sable were named because of their colors.
Josie is my current kitty (she's 15 but everyone still thinks she's a kitten because she's so petite). She got her name because two electricians named Joe found her in the bushes in front of my home.
Therefore, when you go to name your little kitten. It should be something that just comes to you. Any of the suggestions made are great one, I just think it should be more personal.
Good luck.

i let my cats pick their names. i have 2, i wrote down all the names i thought of on small scraps of paper. i crinkled them up into balls and rolled them across the room. i picked up the first piece of paper that each of them went to and those ended up being their names. They're both black males and ended up with the names, Percival and Bosco.
