i am getting braces tomorrow at 4:05 pm i just wanted 2 no does it hurt? and what can and cant u eat ? like gum is there a certin type of gum 4 braces? if so what is the name of it? if u have ever had braces what colors did u get?

Yes they will be sore for a few days, advil will help this, and no, you are not supposed to chew gum of any kind... Don't get light colors, they stain easily and usually end up yellow or green....Good luck and it will be worth it!

I had braces. They are not a big deal. I would ask the orthodontist for some wax to put on the bracket because most likely they will rub on your lips for a few days after that you will be fine. There is gum you can chew that wont stick to your braces, just look on the package it says wont stick to most dental work(or something close to that).. But really I wouldnt chew gum, it works against the work that your dentist is trying to do. I would just grab some mints or something. I always had them solid colors but u can get all differnt colors from red, green, orange, blue, pink, yellow, black.. all different colors...

When I got my brices it did not hurt at all, eventually my teeth got sore but that won't usually happen if you take an advil or 2 after they get sore. You can pretty much anything but really hard things or sticky things. I was able to chew sugar free gum. I got all kinds of colors, you can get different colors everytime you go. When it was around a holiday I got the colors that went with the holiday for example christmas red and green. Since it is summer I would get summer colors like red orange yellow ect..

hun no. I just got my braces on today! your a little sore, but its fine. NOW if your getting teeth pulled thats a diffrent question haha.
But you should eat smoothies yogurt, pudding and baisicly andthing soft for the first 2 days. And then work your way up with mac and cheese.
Yeah u can chew regular gum i think...not suppose to but everyone does.
I got pink and yellow ...I thought they were cute summer colors

They're annoying and uncomfortable, but tolerable. How old are you? If you're young it won't be that bad. If you're an adult things will be more difficult to move which makes it even more uncomfortable.
No, you shouldn't chew gum or anything else really sticky like candy. It will only insure that you'll be visiting your orthodontist more often.
I didn't get colors, but stay away from clear bands or white. They stain from sauces and everyday eating. They make your teeth look dirty.

yeah they hurt. eat b4 u go. have ice cream afterwards. yes u can chew gum. but only like orbit. (sugar free) cause everything else sticks. pink always looks nice. dont eat mustard. it turns the rubber bands weird colors. and dont mix colors like green and pink. it also looks very weird

Is it still called Novocain?
This is a major procedure so they would make sure that you are very well numbed-up.

yea i got braces today and yea they hurt and yea you can chew sugerfree gum only and i chew stride or orbit and i got tourquoise and hot pink! and im not lying me and my sister got them today
