I think gay Christian in an oxymoron, God forgives sin However the sinner must repent of (turn away from) their sin, homosexuality is sin, therefore one must get out of the gay life and follow God to be forgiven.Jesus told the Harlot "Go and sin no-more". This is not to say that Christians are "sinless" we simply try to sin less in an effort to honor God. Most non-believers like to call Christians hypocrites, that we are, I challenge anyone to show me a human who is not! Remember Christians are not perfect, we are, however FORGIVEN!! accept Christ as your Lord and savior and He will FORGIVE you too!!!

First of all, I am not gay and I have studied the story of Sodom.

It was the custom in those days, for the people to place their guest above other things. This was their level of hospitality. If you read the story, instead of just picking at one part of it, you would be asking "How could they offer their daughters, who had not yet been with a man, to the mob in order to protect these visitors(who were angels)." Would you be willing to do that?

There are other parts of the Bible, like don't judge others.

I am a Christian. I read the Bible. I try to live my life by the model Jesus set. I try not to judge others, but questions like this, which push gays out of Christianity, really put me to the test. I am not perfect any more than you are.

There are so many parts of the Holy Bible that teach us to love everyone.

I try not to do the judging. I think that is something God makes it very clear that He will do.

Just make sure you understand that God loves the individual, however, their behavior and life choice will lead them into bondage that will harden their hearts to God's eternal salvation. Because Homosexuality involves so much emotional investment, it is almost impossible to tell the them the truth without being labeled with very harsh epithets. Remember, the sin of homosexuality is no blacker than my sin. And if the Christian truly hated homosexuals, they would keep the message of salvation to themselves, not try to change them, and let them go on their merry way to destruction. But because we care, we take the slings and arrows of 90% of the media and public to speak the truth. Hopefully with love and salt. The Bible states that homosexuality is behavioral, for Paul states that many of the new believers had been delivered from homosexuality in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites... will inherit the kingdom of God. And SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

The story of Sodom & Gomorrah does not mention homosexuality, that is an invention of much later translations and interpretations, in other words it's all made up by homophobes.

Yes, and when you're ready to accept the truth about Sodom, then maybe these words from the Bible will enlighten you as to the real cause of destruction (not caring for the needy):

The Book of Ezekiel:

16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

16:50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw [good].

My friend, you greatly misunderstand the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. The city was destroyed not because of homosexuality, but because of the violence and rape. (Yes, men were having sex with other men *against their will*.)

To answer your question, yes a gay church is possible.

what most gay Christians, no, most Christians in general fail to reason is that the Bible is not open for your interpretation. It's God's word, so let Him reveal to you what it means. if something is commanded of you, do it, whether you like it or not, whether you understand it or not. the Bible does say in several places in the Old and New Testaments that homosexuality is a sin (not necessarily the feelings, but the practices).

most Christians also fail to realize that homosexuality promotes some other things God disapproves of, such as "selected commandments" (only following the commandments that don't stop you from doing sins you actively practice, pardoning sin), disobedience to God, living in carnality (practicing sin while saved), making excuses, living contrary lifestyles, or seeing sin as "oh, this isn't so bad".

look, I'm not against gay Christians, as in those who have those feelings but don't act on them, but I can't agree with a church that preaches that homosexuality is okay. as long as you don't believe contrary to God, condone, or practice any sin, then you're fine by me.

Since there is now evidence that most of the time people are gay due to certain hormonal differences, then there ought to be. If God made the gene then why the hell would he shun them? Maybe its proof of evolution or maybe homophobes hiding behind their beliefs should just show the world what they really are.

The story of Sodom is about RAPE... Does that make a difference?

Accepting Jesus as our savior has nothing to do with sexual orientation. I truly believe that that part of the bible was added in by the society who wrote it since being gay was very hated.
