Based on the way you type, you don't seem to be very mature, as such, I don't beleive you are responsible enough to own one.

several steps:
1. show your parents how responsible you are by doing extra things around, keep your grades up, and keep your room clean.
2. hint a little here and there about your interest in dogs.
3.do some research on care giving for a dog.(make sure they see you reading on it)
4.ask if you can have a dog and point out all of your effort above and hope 4 the best.

good luck to you on getting a dog!

Also i think that everybody is being stupid to comment on your typing just ignore them. jeez why do people have to be so rude?!

I begged for a dog when I was 10, I finally got one when I proved to be responsible (and i irratated them alot lol). Take neighbors dogs for walks, look after them.... Write a letter to your parents explaining why you want a dog and how you will take care of him/her. I would just try to prove responsible. Do lots of research about different breeds. I brought a book to my parents ever so often and said "how about this breed?" and they finally told me that they thought the Golden Retriever looked like a nice dog. So I started buying books on raising a dog and read books on the breed. I actually made a dog bed out of a cardboard box lol. I got a brush and a dog bowl, i was determind. Finally they said yes we can get a dog (they really did not want one). "Copper" died a year ago at 10 years old. And my parents don't regret one bit about getting that dog. He was my best friend and taught me alot. Towards the end he started costing thousands because of medical conditions and he had cancer. But they don't regret one cent. Make sure you are ready for a dog first, think about who is gonna take care of the puppy when you get home, feed the puppy etc.... Think about all this and write it in a letter to your parents. Good luck!

You say get me a dog its not that hard and if you cant figure that out then i dont think you can handle a dog...lol..jk i think the best thing you can do is talk to your parents and ask them what you would need to do for them to get you a dog...talk to them about which breed and how YOU would help take care of it and if/when they do get you one actaully do wat you said you would and then they will trust you more so next time you ask for somthing they make give it to you quicker also discuss money and who would take care of the dog while u are on vacation! Hope this helps you...it worked for me and now i hav 2 dogs and 3 cats and 2 bunnies!

#1 : Write in a way that is easier to see, please

#2 : What parents say is final so maybe you could do something for them in return for buying you a dog

#3 : A dog is a BIG responsibility - you must choose a dog that you won't get bored of in the first few days

#4 : You must prove your responsibility to your parents before they buy you anything

#5 : Bugging them ain't gonna help. They'll be mad and it'll be harder to ask them for something this big

Even if you trick them into it, if they don't want a dog then it will not go well. If you are not prepared to make the full commitment and year plus that it takes to train a dog and all of the other responsibility, then I would not advise it. If so, than discuss it with them,if you can, and stick to your end of the deal.

First... it probably took you longer to type that than it would have for you to ask them. Second, they probably don't want one yet because you may not be responsible enough for them to trust you with a dog.

Also a little tip... don't type like that anymore. Not only is it hard to read but it makes you seem rather foolish that you have to type in rediculous manner.

Show them that you are capable of taking care of an animal by doing the dishes or cleaning your room for one month. Then they will think you might be able to help with walking, cleaning, feeding the dog too.

If they don't want one.. It might be a little tough.. But I would just go to them.. And explain that you would be responsible for it.. that you would make sure to feed it and take it for walks, etc. The big thing though is that you would have to follow up on those promises if they did get you the dog.. You'd have to be sure to do what you said, etc.. (otherwise they might not get you the next thing you want that you promise you will take care of.. :) heh)

Parents always respond better to requests rather than demands. Showing them your ability to behave responsibly with another, smaller pet might pave the way. Good luck

If your parents have decided that getting a dog is not a good idea right now, then they must have a good reason for it. They are your parents, and they know what's best.
