I have a scar on my face from a recent injury. I find that some days I can hardly see it and other days it is very apparent. What should I stop doing so that I do not aggravate the scar? Is it something I am eating?

The only things that make scars more evident are great lighting (fluorescents), flushing, blushing and tanning. It is hard to avoid lighting since it exists everywhere. It is also hard to control blushing. Any time you are hot or exercise, you are going to flush...this is normal. You can avoid tanning.

To prevent the scar from being so obvious, just cover all of your face with a little foundation makeup. There are so many out there now that are so sheer no one knows you are wearing makeup...particularly the mineral foundations.

yeah, its probably with the diff. lighting and make-up coverage. bright yellow light and reddish light makes skin imperfections more obvious.
try applying fresh aloe vera gel (freshly squeezed from an aloe vera leaf) twice a day on your scar to help it heal quickly and minimize darkening of the skin.
gently rub the aloe gel on the scar for a few minutes to let your skin absorb the juice. you'll probably see a diff. in a week or so like i did with my scar :)

hope that helped!

There is a product called Merderma, that you can use once the injury has healed. You can get it at the drugstore, no prescription needed.
