find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I am on the grapefruit juice diet and I am trying to lose 50 lbs. more.I have already lost 15 lbs. in 28 days. The diet goes like this :stay on it for 12 days and off 2 days. Then get back on it for 12 and off two.Keep repeating untill you get where you want.If you stick to the diet you can lose 52 lbs. in 2&half months. If you cant drink grapefruit juice thats o.k. cause I cant so instead I take apple cider vinegar pill after each meal or a tsp. of vinegar. This diet is very effective and you will see results.Plus its not unheathy.I always eat what it says but sometimes I snack but I make sure what I am snacking on is not a lot and it is not high in sugar or carbs. No one wants to try this diet.I suggest it all the time to people who want to lose weight on this question site.I have a friend at work who has seen the results on me and now he is thinking about trying it.Its hard at first but just do the best you can do and dont give up and it will all come naturally to you.I promise you this diet works. Check the website out and read ALL the info.Yes you can drink caffeine free sodas and diet sodas.I have pretty much done away with all sodas and I drink bottled flavor water and the drinks called FUSE.You can contact me if you like and I will help you in any way I can.If you dont get a reply quickly thats o.k. because I work a lot.I will reply back.

9 months to 1 year is a very healthy time period to lose 60 lbs. So here is the break down...You must eliminate 3500 calories to lose 1 lb. So if you want to lose 60 that would be 60x3500=210,000 calories. Assuming you take 9 months that would be about 24,000 calories per month or 800 calories per day...210,000calories /9 months=24,000 calories per month .24,000 calories/30 days=800 calories/ day. Now this can be done through both diet and exercise. For example, you could eliminate about 400 calories through diet and burn 400 through exercise. This can be modified based on what works best for you. So if you normally consume 2200 calories per day you should decrease to about 1800. In addition do some cardio and strength training. Hope this helps.
Also although tap water may not taste great, in most cases it is safe. It has been tested by the city and also contains fluoride for your teeth. Good luck

I know how you feel, I felt the same way. However, I joined "Weight Watchers" and I lost 80 pounds. I was 240 pounds and now I am 160 pounds. I followed the "weight Watchers' program and I exercised daily. First I walked, and then jogged and worked out with weights, bicyled and cross-country skied. Now I compete in running and ski races. I don't win the races but I consider myself a winner becaues I can ski 40 Km (25 miles) and I can run 10 km (6 miles).

Good Luck!

it's good that you want to be a healthier person, and not just a Paris Hilton stick. you have a realistic time frame. just cut your calories to somewhere between 1200 and 1500 a day, keep walking, and eat more whole grains (fiber,) raw fruits and vegetables. it'll naturally cleanse your body and clear up your skin (keep up with the water too!) www.my-calorie-counter.com has the calories of almost EVERY food imaginable. if you choose your foods wisely, you can eat a LOT of food on 1200 calories. (example- one ounce of potato chips -which is only about 12 chips, has the same calories as 2 apples--- which will leave you full?) it works, and you can occasionally cheat - I take a "day off" once a month- and still lose. Good luck-- keep us posted!

Congrats on losing weight already! I think you have made some good choices by drinking water not soda, and walking.
Are you eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day? Are you getting
2-3 servings of low fat dairy--milk/cheese/yogurt? 5 servings of veggies/fruit? 2-3 servings of protein (meat)? 1-2
servings of bread/pasta/rice/cereal? Make sure your diet is a healthy one. Eating every 3-4 hours keeps your metabolism going. Good Luck. I'm sure you will
make your goal within the year, if you keep going as you are.

tap water isn't bad for you....congrats on losing the 20, but just continue with what you started...exercise & lots of water = GREAT! Maybe you can make your walk a little longer each time and make SURE that you are eating healthy! The weight will come off!

Cut your daily calorie intake, talk with your doctor about an apporpriate daily caloric intake. Also, you dont have to cut out sodas.. just do diet 0 calories!! If this doesnt really fuel weight loss ask about a diet pill.. phentermine works great but its not for certain people, your doc will be able to give you what u need!

Congratulations! I am excited for you!
Heathy weight loss is 2 - 3 pounds per week so yes 60 pounds in 9 months is very reasonable goal.
For the acne I buy St. Ives Apricot cleanser for my 15 yr old. He scrubs his face with it and it seems to keep acne at bay as long as he uses it several times a week.
Best of luck to you in reaching your goal!
