Because there is no *necessary* contradiction between faith and common sense. This is not to deny the obvious fact that, common sense notwithstanding, many people believe in absurd things, including silly religious beliefs. But the capacity to believe in foolish things is not limited to religious people. By the same token, faithful people are not necessarily devoid of common sense. Visit a Unitarian Church, for example, where you'll find many thoughtful, educated and intelligent people who take reason and common sense very seriously -- and continue to place faith in a spiritual approach to life.

He also gave you intuition so you could receive your guidance from Him.
