“As you go, preach.”—Matt. 10:7.
“How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach?” (Rom. 10:14)
"19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” Matt. 28:19, 20
So you see from the scriptures, (there are others as well) we have a work to do! We are told to preach. Older ones come out knocking on the doors because it is what they want to do. They understand this command from Jehovah. We have a warning work to do. We take our children out door to door because we are training them. We teach them WHY we are going out. The Bible says at Galatians 6:7: “Whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap.” Parents who want their children to have high moral standards must first show that they themselves are living according to such standards. "12 Remember, now, your Grand Creator in the days of your young manhood, before the calamitous days proceed to come, or the years have arrived when you will say: “I have no delight in them" (Ecc.12:1)
"6 And these words that I am commanding you today must prove to be on your heart; 7 and you must inculcate them in your son and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up" (Deut. 6:6,7) So you see here, we HAVE to train our children!
The day of Jehovah is coming.
"14 “The great day of Jehovah is near. It is near, and there is a hurrying [of it] very much. The sound of the day of Jehovah is bitter. There a mighty man is letting out a cry. " Zephaniah 1:14
His day will not be late either! (Habakkuk 2:2, 3) "2 And Jehovah proceeded to answer me and to say: “Write down [the] vision, and set [it] out plainly upon tablets, in order that the one reading aloud from it may do so fluently. 3 For [the] vision is yet for the appointed time, and it keeps panting on to the end, and it will not tell a lie. Even if it should delay, keep in expectation of it; for it will without fail come true. It will not be late."
How can you survive this day of Judgment? It is by taking in accurate knowledge. This is what God requires of us. “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3) So this is why we go door to door, it is what God has told us to do, and his day is almost here and in order to survive it you have to have accurate knowledge. It means your very life.

No, honestly, I don't mind much when most anyone knocks on my door because they are volunteering for something they believe in, and are polite.

I must admit, I find I have to take a deep breath and say NO THANK YOU ! Politely as I can, as I appreciate what their task is, and I do happen to know one or two really nice folks who are JHs.
However, the other side of my coin, is that I feel its an intrusion, selling me something I have NOT asked for, especially when I have just finished a NIGHT SHIFT, or in the middle of an important task! If I wanted to change my faith I would ASK.
I am a firm believer in that its not religion that creates wars, its the guys attempting to push it !!!
I am of no particular religion, I know there is something, but at the end of the day, God has many mansions, (religions).
Everyone has a lit candle of faith but they make the one true light?
One day, I hope we will all meet upstairs, probably all standing in our own queues, and be gathered up and loved by OUR God, even if there are a few that whisper "I Told you so" !!!!

The manner of your question seems strange. first you ask if the responder hates Jehovah's Witnesses calling on them, perhaps in the hope of hooking in those who do hate being preached to. The initial thoughts of these ones wouold no doubt be to prepare for anti-Jehovah's Witness vitriol.
Then, when they enter the answer question page, you hit them with an overly complex scriptural argument as to why Jehovah's Witnesses knock on peoples doors. Your explanations are correct as I understand it, but your style makes me wonder what exactly your motivation is.

No, the ones I've met are very respectful knowledgable people (unlike some of the previous answerers lol)
The ones I've met are not pushy or arogant. I've met one or two who have a good sense of humour too. I think that if people just talked to them & listened they might be pleasantly surprised instead of being hateful.

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints(Mormon) and I respect Jehovah's Witnesses... they live what they teach on the whole and that's what Jesus would have us do.
I try my upmost to be respectful and I'll even let them in for refreshment if they wish.
Although some of our view's of the Bible differ we are still brothers and sisters in Christ.
I defiantly think this earth would be a better place if there were more JW's!
Have a good day! :)

sorry to say it but i think you are a nutter. my best friends mother was a jovo and in the school holidays she threw her kids out into the back garden at 9am and did not let them back in until 3.30pm just so she did not have to feed them. she beat my friend with a coat hanger in front of her friends because her skirt was just above the knee and she was going out. if that is what religion does for you, you can shove it where the sun don't shine. any by the way you drag your poor kids from door to door so that we will feel sorry for them and let you in so you can brainwash us. sorry don't buy it.

long question??? I dislike people preaching to me when I am already fully aware of information which is available to me should I wish to see or read it.
Someone comming to my door to preach to me,with the audacity to assume I am happy to give up my time to them, that they are more use to me than my getting ready for work/ eating dinner after work/ seeing my distant family...etc, etc, where do they get off assuming they have control of my time and actually WANT to speak about religion- a deep and private matter for anyone-let anlone a stranger!
so NO, I dont like jehovas witnesses, I actually have no idea what they preach or what they are about, but as they are always attempting to ram stuff down my throat, I wont ever look to that religion as one for my own.

So did you count all the time it took you to create this question as time in field service? If you believe all the stuff you just said, wouldn't your time be best spent knocking on some one's door?

I have no problem with them knocking on my door. I take it as a sign from God that they need to hear His gospel and I share it with them.
You mistake witnessing for 'knocking on doors'. Knocking on doors is - knocking on doors.
Being a witness is much more. It is a way of life. It is a 24/7 way of life that a believer lives - not something that happens just because someone is going out door knocking.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is [the] power of God to salvation to every [one] believing, both to [the] Jew first and to [the] Greek.
Rom 1:17 For [the] righteousness of God is revealed in it from faith to faith, just as it has been written, "But the [one] righteous by faith will live [or, the righteous will live by faith]." [Hab 2:4]
Eph 6:11 Put on the full armor of God in order [for] you* to be able to stand firm against the tricks [or, cunning schemes] of the Devil.
Eph 6:12 Because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, _but_ against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual [forces] of the wickedness in the heavenlies [or, heavenly [realms]].
Eph 6:13 For this reason, take up the full armor of God, so that you* shall be able to resist in the day of evil, and having accomplished [or, overcome] everything, to stand firm.
Eph 6:14 Therefore, stand firm, 'having wrapped your waist around with truth,' and 'having put on the breastplate of righteousness,' [Isaiah 11:5; 59:17]
Eph 6:15 and having 'put on your feet as shoes the preparation of the Gospel of peace,' [Isaiah 52:7]
Eph 6:16 above all [or, in addition to all [these things]], having taken up the shield of faith, by which you* will be able to extinguish all the arrows, the ones having been set on fire, [fig., the flaming arrows] of the evil [one],
Eph 6:17 and to receive [or, take] 'the helmet of salvation,' and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, [Isaiah 59:17; Isaiah 11:4 (LXX); Isaiah 49:2; Hos. 6:5]
Eph 6:18 through all prayer and petition praying in every season in [the] Spirit, and with respect to this same [thing] [or, to this same [end]], be staying alert in all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones
(Analytical Literal Translation)
Such is not found just by belonging to a particular group with a particular name. It happens because of relationship with God thru His Son, Jesus.
No group can save. Only Jesus saves. Jesus brought salvation to mankind - not a particular group with a certain name.
Life is so much more than just 'knocking on doors' - or belonging to the 'right' group because it is only if one belongs to the 'right' group with the 'right' name that one can be saved. Such is nowhere within scripture - but such doesn't stop people from telling that when they are out 'door knocking'.
"I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters."

I don't hate it. I have no interest in converting to JW, but I respect people who are willing to go door to door, proclaiming their beliefs.
