if its permanant you will most likely get full disability if you have worked for a certain amount of years. i am only 29, don't really have a work history cause i have lived with my condition most of my life, though i'm not fully disabled. i am on hemo dialysis due to my kidneys failing, so i am able to work, so i recieve what they call supplemental security income(ssi) monthly of only $623.00. sucks, cause doing dialysis really drains your energy and you have to do it 3 days a week. thats the government 4 ya though.....cheap!!!!!

I'm going thru this now... i have been on Workman's comp now since the injury in 05, its only 66% of what i was making, I'm making close to 1,000 dollars a week and thank god for that but its still only 66% of what I was making keep that in mind.

I just applied for SS and they turned me down, my lawyer says they turn everyone down the first time anyway. See it is a very confusioning mathematics system they use to determine how little they have to pay you, you cant make more then you were before you got hurt if you combined SS with Workman's comp.

I would sit down with your lawyer and ask him how much you should tell SS you make a week.

I just had 2 surgery's and and looking into a settlement stage, and was wondering if anyone here ever had a 2 level spine fusion with a bone graph, and what did they get as far as a settlement from Workman's comp, I know this is com plated to, but is it like 300,000 or like 1,000,000 because it was a career ending injury?

If you call your Social Security office in your area they will give you the determination for you. It's really very complicated and long. Everyone is different and without a lot of information, it can't be done this way. All the information is held secret and your not liable so don't worry.

If this is the first time your calling them, and you've been injured, then have all the information on hand for them. You'll get a phone interview date to respond to, you'll need your doctors names, all dates and times, everything viable to the injury or illness. You'll also need birth certificates, marriage certificates, drivers licenses, everything you can think of, the actual ones, not copies, so you'd better hustle.
