Because we're the only One True Religion and they're just jealous that we have the truth and they don't.

They think that just because Joseph Smith had 14-year-old polygamous wives and thought Quakers lived on the moon, that means he wasn't a prophet. He was still human, after all, and that doesn't change his calling.

Some people love to hate people who disagree with them. Christians may hate the heresies of Mormonism (polytheism/henotheism,etc) that are incompatible and apostate from historic trinitarian Christianity and become annoyed by the 'false advertising" of the Mormons' claims that Mormonism is compatible with Christianity, that it is the True and Restored Chruch and that the "real Christian" Trinitarian Churches are apostate. No real Christian can hate Mormons or anyone else or spread falsehoods about Mormons or any other "post Christian" or other religion.
I have only have had friendly experiences with Mormons and I have no temptation to see Mormon"particulars" as anything but refuted and incredible.

i'm not a Mormon nor do I consider the instructions you persevere with. i'm not a possibly convert. in spite of the undeniable fact that, i detect many Mormons i understand to be upstanding and loveable individuals. i might furnish you this: pay attention to what combatants and people who've left your church say. Use that as a touchstone to maintain your self real. i don't mean that is critical consistently have faith what they are saying, yet study your perception equipment. An unexamined lifestyles is one that's not nicely-lived. do not permit others stand between you and God. you are the single that should respond to direct now and on the hour of your demise. Take duty for what you do and have faith, simply by fact finally that is genuinely your responsibilty. And that Golden Rule? best one available: do unto others as you have got them do unto you. Mormons are nicely uncomplicated for being arranged for mess ups and emergencies. there are circumstances coming while that preparedness would be favored with the aid of those not of your faith. then you definately will lead with the aid of occasion; then you definately will discover converts. My female - female chum, in case you like - is right here immediately simply by fact a Mormon family members rescued her pregnant super grandmother out in the wasteland in Arizona. i'm very happy Mormons are around.

I am a Baptist and I personally dont hate anybody, just peoples actions.
If you truly seek Christ as your Lord and Savior then the Holy Spirit will convict you of practices that are wrong. The creator of the Mormon religion is dead. The creator of Christianity was killed (good Friday) rose from the dead (Easter), and sits at the right hand of God.
Now, who would it make more sense to listen to? a dead man or The Son of The Living God, Jesus?
Jesus Christ wasn't a Mormon or a Baptist.
Jesus said that we should worship the Father in truth and in spirit. He didn't say you have to be Catholic, or Mormon; these are the inventions of man and Jesus said that there is a way that seems right unto man but the end thereof is death. There is only one way to Heaven, Belive in Christ; that he died as a propitiation for our sins. No acts of any kind will get you there. For "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"

I am Catholic and many hate us too. What gets me is that we are all Christians, Mormons, Catholics, Baptists, etc. As Christians, we beleive in the same Christ, same apostles, same things. We just do it in a different way. Also, as Christians, we are taught not to hate. We are not supposed to judge. We are supposed to love one another and make this world a better place to live in. I don't get it either.

Jealous of us!! :)

Seriously there are a lot of reasons that people hate us.

As aptly pointed out by Ayisha B, there is a BUTTLOAD of ignorance about our religion. People hear a little about this or that and then turn it into something much bigger. And there are people who seem to enjoy turning something that was good into something sinister. (50 kids????)

And as one other young woman (sorry, can't remember your handle....) so deftly discussed her "love for Mormons but hatred for their anti-Christian docterine..granny was a Mormon after all" there is a great deal of misinterpretation of the Bible.

And then there are the "recovered Mormons" of the world who used to be Mormons. Some of them felt slighted by fellow Mormons. Some of them were led away by something insidious like The Godmakers, being weak in their convictions. Some of them see these half-truths about Joseph Smith and decide that he's a fallen prophet...again, weak convictions.

And people fear (yes fear!) things which are different. And if nothing, our religion is DIFFERENT! But the good news here is that the Gospel is true, no matter how many people hate you for believing it...it's still true.

Why is it that Mormons/LDS mistake someone not agreeing with their beliefs as hate? Why do the LDS hate other religions? Why do they say that they are all corrupt and of the devil? Why do they say that unless you are baptized a Mormon, hold a Mormon Temple recommend, and sealed in the Mormon Temple you are not going to be with God? I don't know, I sounds to me like the Mormons are the ones doing the hating.

I think one of the biggest reasons is that there is a lot of incorrect information out there about the church. Also, many people are taught in their churches that the Mormon church is not a christian religion - I know this from personal experience, when visiting another church with a friend the preacher delivered a sermon about Mormons and everything he said was untrue. They also print anti-Mormon literature and distribute it to their congregations.

Another reason - people don't take time to find out the truth and are afraid of things they don't understand.

Well, satan did all he could to get everyone to hate the Savior because of His mission. Satan will try to get everyone to hate Mormons because it is Christ's Church. Satan hates anything that has to do with the Savior. That doesn't mean that people that hate Mormons are evil. They are just given false information by the devil. People are scared of things they misunderstand and will tend to attack it. The adversary knows that and spreads half truths about the Restored Gospel and wah lah, people hate you.
People will say stuff they don't understand, like we practice polygamy and the Bible doesn't support it. Well, WE DON'T PRACTICE POLYGAMY and the Bible does support it. See 1 Kings 11:3-4, 1 Samuel 30:5,18 and Genesis 21. Abraham married Hagar, and Sariah among others. He was a Prophet in the Bible and people think the Bible doesn't support polygamy. It supports it when God commands it. He is God and can do whatever He wants.
They also think it is dumb we believe the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are separate. The Bible supports this. In Acts 7:55-56 Stephen sees Jesus Christ standing on the right hand of God. How do you stand on the right hand of yourself? In John 8:12-18, Christ says that the testimony of two is true and that He and the Father testify of Him as the Savior. Matthew 3:17 this was written of His baptism, "And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." John 17 shows the Son praying to the Father asking that the Disciples be one as they are one. He didn't ask that they be morphed into one being (that would be the case if the Father and Son were one). ETC...........
To JaMan, One of the fastest growing areas for the Mormon Church is in Africa. So yes I have heard of a black Mormon. Do you want me to start listing? Thurl Bailey, Gladys Knight, ETC........
Christ was in the minority during His ministry and so is the LDS Church. I am glad we aren't a cookie cutter copy of all the other Churches. That is a very good sign, don't you think?

They don't hate Mormons, they just have been affected negatively by the Mormon/LDS church. Either that or they are offended that those of their own species would actually believe some of the stuff that LDS/Mormons believe.

I think it is ignorance of the faith. I have heard many rumors about the weird things Mormons believe and do and I know for a fact that they are incorrect. I can think of no reason to hate a Mormon, so that is my conclusion.
