Should I find a Dr who does arthroscopic?

While healing times can be slightly faster with arthroscopic procedures, the surgeon may need to open you up a little bit more to get better access to the torn tendon. This will allow for a better repair and therefore a better outcome. I recently read a study (can't locate it right now or else I would list it as a source) that compared arthroscopic to open procedures - results and outcomes were very similar. You can always choose to have a second opinion - that is your right. But don't think just because one doctor does an mini-open procedure vs arthroscopic procedure that you are going to have better outcomes with the latter.

definitely get a second opinion on surgery. A doctor who does arthroscopic would be a good one to get an opinion from. It's always best to have options when you're facing surgery. It's never easy to go under surgery. with your condition you know you have to have some sort of surgery.
