I mean,so many guys are handsome, its easy to be handsome, just be tall, work out, and have a normal chiselled face, and if not, you have a cute baby face.

Yet for girls/women its so difficult to be attractive, you have to have a beautiful face, which is hard to define, if your features are too sharp, you'll look manly, if not, they're boring.

If guys get a bit chubby its still cute, if a girl gets chubby, its disgusting,if she's too thin she's a stick.

Guys don't need make up and look great with casual clothes, girls have to spend ages to make themselves look nice.

Do you agree that men on average are much better looking than women?

I object to some of your comments but it is true that in nature the male usually is the more colorful one. Probably to attract the females. I think the female needs to be more camouflaged to protect herself and her nest, therefore less color and plumage, but not less beauty.

But you see the males still fighting over them!

This has to do with social perception. Society works in phases and trends.

In the 1600's Ruebenesk women were exotic and beautiful. It was a sign of money that you were able to feed yourself so much (glutonous though). They were full figured and painted by artists such as Rueben (hence Ruebenesk). This was the case through even most of the 20th Century. Being big is now looked at as low class. You cant buy good food and eat things that are bad for you. You cant afford a gym membership, etc. Back then you had big gala's where you would eat and sleep and indulge yourself with food and wine.

In the 1960's all of a sudden here is Twiggy. A supermodel with no meat on her bones amoungst many others. In the blink of an eye it was sexy to look like a holocaust victim. Anorexia and Belimia are trends in women and rising trends in men. Being thin has now become a sign of wealth. You can afford a personal trainer and "healthier" food.

What happened to the days when big really was beautiful? I would say social pressure and media. How you look is broadcast over the TV and in Magazines. Not too mention in those days trans fat wasnt in existence. Before TV, etc. it didnt matter what you looked like cause nobody ever saw you.

I would say with all the added ingredients we have put into out world we have forced ourselves into a pigeon hole. You can now not be big and healthy (nor too skinny and healthy).

We have created a society were all are judged by the way they appear. There is not as much social pressure put on men as there are women. Part of that reason could be the oppostie sex. Women are not physical by nature therfore pay less attention to the way a man looks. Men on the other hand are physical by nature and put more of an emphasis on the apperance of the women they pay attention to.

When young girls have people like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton as role models this is where we end up . If more people found Opera to be sexy we might have something there...

If only health could exist on the inside with beauty on the outside, but these days it is just not possible.

(A plus size model wears a size 10, I personally wear a 16 or 18. You would never guess it, but it says alot...Size 10 is NOT a plus size, you can find that size in the juniors department, yes that is the teenager part of the store. I would love to find a pair of loose fitting jeans or a shirt that covered my belly button, but everything is made to be tight, and too short. When I wake up in the morning I would love not to put makeup on, but I am told I have to by this voice in my head. I have been trained. Although I do believe that I AM BEAUTIFUL! We all are!)

No.. I don't agree that is the case.. What the issue is... is that men are the ones that are looking at the women and are being the 'fussy' ones.. (read that as "jerks").. You said that if a girl gets chubby, it's disgusting... TO WHO?? To you?? Well, then it's not that SHE is disgusting, it's that YOU think that she is.

I know MANY MANY girls that don't have to spend any time to make themselves look nice.. I know many that can have a completely natural look (no makeup etc) and be particularly STUNNING looking.

It's because of men that women feel like they have to 'beautify' themselves. Men are generally jerks and think that they should classify women based soley on looks and that look should be just a certain way.

I am so happy to not have that attitude in my mind. I don't know why.. something about my upbringing maybe? I just know that I don't see people as different because of makeup, etc.. I don't judge someone based on some body fat.. AND, in fact, I often find girls that are not the "perfect 10" that some guys think.. as much much more beautiful.. Why? Because I think about women as human beings, not as models, etc.

Anyway.. I'm done ranting.

Are you gay? What does that question have to do with Global Warming?
No, I do not agree that women are less attractive than men. And I find women who wear make up uglier than those who don't. So you don't have to spend ages to make yourself look nice. You don't have to wear fancy clothes to look nice. I actually find girls more attractive in casual jeans and whatever they wanna wear on top. You don't have to have a beautiful face in order to be attractive, you just have to be attractive, if you know what I mean. I rarely see guys that are attractive, partially because I'm not gay and don't pay attention to them that much.

The only thing I can say is it's because of people's false sense of what is attractive. For men it is easier because even as we get older we just gain more appeal (Sean Connery for example). But society today frowns upon women aging and they do drastic things to cover it up and that just worsens them more. Judi Dench is a good example of a woman who is smart and accepts that she is getting older. And she is still a beautiful woman and her confidence increases that 10-fold. So it isnt that there are more attractive men we just have it easier in society's eye. But remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not the group as a whole.

Where exactly do all these fabulous attractive men live, so I can move there? ;)
I usually find the opposite: that women, on average, tend to be more visually appealing than men.
I think you're a bit harsh on the women, and need to see how chubby and stick-like and plain can all be beautiful. Go check the new Dove pro-age ads - there are all kinds of beauty, let's not limit ourselves to one definition.

It's because men are more picky about their women than men are. Women tend to be a little less liberal when it comes to how the man looks as opposed to men being like "she's gotta be pretty, smart, willing to do anything that I say when i say it (for some anyhow)" etc etc. At least a lot of men are like this, as for me, I just want someone I can enjoy my time around, simple :P

no. men are equal to women. men are ALSO gross if overweight.

I mean,so many girls are prettier than me, but for me its easy to be pretty, just be natural (no makeup/no hairdyes/etc) or fake to look good (globs of makeup/fake chest/fake hair color/shaved legs and underarms/etc), work out (yea women workout to!), and have a 'normal chiselled face' (if they were born with it and later got surgery to try to look that way like they used to!), and if men do not take good care of their looks either they tend to get gross, stinky, fat, zitty, and furry.

Yet for men its so difficult to be attractive, you have to have a short beard, good figure (not over or under weight), good MANNERS. if your features are too big, you look like Jabba the hut

If guys get too chubby its gross, if a guy is too thin, he looks sickly.

Guys DO need "make up" (facial washing/moisturizer/aftershave/a little counselor for zits, which is what more guys need to use. the stars do it so should you) and lOok great with casual clothes, men's clothing cost more sometimes.

"Do you agree that men on average are much better looking than women?"
NO. "ALL (HU)MAN(S) ARE CREATED EQUAL".

I think that both men and woman can be good looking, the difference is that guys are more natural, if you look at today's stereotype woman are considered to be more beautiful, if you look at the history men were considered more beautiful, in the animal world men are more beautiful, from a biblical point men are superior in every way, it depends on how you define "good looking"

I think it's because in nature, males are naturally more flambouyant than their female counterparts. They always have to look flashier, sing prettier, or build better nests to attract mates. Plus guys are so happy that the metrosexual craze caught on, and that they can look good without feeling gay about it, that they just do more to pamper themselves than women, who have more stress and less time (usually)
