yes, i agree, but i must say nowadays marrying a 12-13-14 years old girl is seen as a negative thing because it has been demonstrated that her brain and EQ is not well developed to understand and to feel the right sensations when having intercourse. also, a 13-years old girl cannot be responsable as a mother or house keeper.
i'm not against it, i just say that there are reasons. i didn't know mary gave birth at 13, this is amazing
gypsis in our country (romania) marry at 12, 11 and the husband is also around this age. they have another policy so this is their own bussines. tradtion says that not so far ago, even the romanians were doing this at the same age, but only in the countryside. if a girl was over 14 she was considered old and nobody would take her as a wife anymore. how does this sound?
even today there are villages where girls marry at 15,16

I agree, I wouldn't call it pedophilia. We have to realize that in some past cultures and maybe even some present-day cultures, getting married by your teenage years was a normal thing. Keep in mind though that in those days people usually didn't live to see their 40th birthday, and on top of that they didn't have the same type of economy we do today (schooling until you're 18 or older, then joining the work force in a profession that's probably not the same one as your parents, etc.).
Likewise, I don't know why people insist on conforming to the rules of the Bible that were created for entirely different people with an entirely different society. Just read Leviticus for examples.

Mary was not 13, she was 16 or 17, and even if she was 13, there is a huge difference between a 13 year old and a 9 year old!

No. The moral views change. In Biblical times, it was ok to stone women because they were suspected of looking at another man besides her husband.
It was the fastest way to divorce.
By our standards, they were sexist pigs.

Don't forget Benjamin Franklin who thought any girl over 15 was too elderly.
