I used my male shih tzu for stud the puppies are due this week we called the female owner about two weeks ago to ask about the mom and if the stud had taken she told us she wasnt sure but she thought so but about 3 days ago we got a call from her saying the female was not going to have puppies it did not take and said her vet said it was b/c he (my male) was too young but my mom said his other 4 studs had taken she kind of stumbled around not sure what to say then said mayby it was b/c they ony stuck once. We think the female is going to have puppies but maby ony one and our agreement was for $400.00 or a puppy now my Question Because she is not going to have puppies it is right to still ask for the stud fee right? I mean the service was provided and they did get stuck once any advice?

Was there a contract? If not, you may be S.O.L.. She should have paid you the 400 for the service, because that was what was provided. If they were stuck (tied) you can guarantee she is preggers.
If she took her to the vet, ask to see the results of the test and/or receipt for the appointment.

First off you are not experienced enough in breeding to even stand a dog at stud (and it has nothing ot do with your age)

secondly you need a signed note from the vet stating that the breeding did not take and that the dog is indeed not pregnant,This needs to be a note that describes the female..name, age, color, breed plus the owner. This needs to be sent directly to you by the vet on the vets letterhead and signed by the vet..not handed to you by the female owner.
If indeed she didn't get pregnant or no live puppies are produced then you as the stud owner must rebreed that female at no charge at her next heat..no puppies no stud fee,

Do you know who her vet is you may be able to call them and explain the situation if they are trying to cheat you out of a stud fee the vet office might be willing to help.
If it did not take then you should offer to service the dog on her next heat and be sure to let them tye twice.

Do you show your dog? Did both dogs have genetic testing done? Are they up to standard? If not you have no business studding what-so-ever.

You replied to other questions but not to mine! What's the story?
