knock, and the door will be answered.

Well, I have been praying for better health for like 4 months now, and nothing has happened. Anything on that??

please and thanks.

The Lord will help you when you need it, and at a time when you will know that it is the Lord that has done it, and at a time that will bring glory to his name. Here are a few things to remember when you pray.

First, Prayers should not be for selfish desires, but for something that will help you to become a better Christian or something that would help someone else.

Second, 2Peter 3:9 says "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." The Lord may not always answer your prayers or give you what you want or think you need when you want it. The Lord knows all that is happening and all that is going to happen. He will give you what you need when you need it, not when you think you need it.

Third, take a look at Mark 11:24 "...What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye recieve them, and ye shall have them." When you pray, you should know that you have recieved what you have prayed for, even if it doesn't come for 4 months or more. This is called faith.

I hope that what I have said will help you.

Praying for better health is good. What have you been doing to assist this process towards better health? Better eating habits, exercise?

What is the health issue? For example; High blood pressure then the idea would be cutting back on salt, not eating meat, more vegetables.

God does answer prayer, but if a person continues a bad eating habit, etc...

Did that make any sense? I do hope you are better soon. I hope I was able to point an example of perhaps a way to assit the process.

God always answers our prayers. His answers can include but are not limited to: no, yes, not now etc. We think because the answer didn't come right after we pray that it was a no when it could be a "not now". Everything negative we go through is useful in our lives. I know I had a frozen shoulder which if anyone knows what that is, is very very painful. I prayed and I didn't get relief for almost 2 years. One thing I have now that I did not have before I got better is a much better understanding and empathy for anyone who has what they call long term pain. I truly thought I knew what they were going through but I really didn't, pain day after day after day. The Lord always teaches us through our trials (including illness) to make us better and more like Christ. If we don't learn something, then we suffered for nothing. Hope that helps.

My sympathies.

Even though you have asked your question slightly imprecisely, you have still received many fine answers that reflect the truth about prayer and God as understood by spiritual humans.

The core of these answers are threefold:
> you may not recognize the answer because you have a particular goal in mind, and
> you may not be 'ready' for the answer.

To get a different perspective on your situation, and other serious problems, allow me to suggest you read two books (probably available from your local library):

> "Embraced by the Light," by Betty J Eadie (see site reference below but I have not evaluated this site at present), and
> "Tales of the Dervishes," by Idries Shah

Best of luck. Write if you like.

Hi-
I don't believe God gives us everything we ask for right away. He doesn't necessarily say "no", but sometimes "not now". The hardest thing to explain to people is how people can suffer and not be helped. I don't think you lack faith, but when you pray do you really leave it in God's hands? Do you doubt Him? Start acting as if you are already healed. Say, "Thank you, God, for healing me." If you are Catholic, ask for the Blessed Mother Mary to help you. Pray the rosary each day. And be sure to thank Her, too.
Another thing: Sometimes we are given these struggles in our life to make us even stronger or to let God show you His work through others. The doctors, nurses, and other health care staff are given the wonderful opportunity to do God's work. Keep the faith.

God surely answers our prayers in His time and in due time. His answer may be NO, WAIT, or YES. You just need to believe in, cling to, and claim His promise that you stated in your question. God knows what's in our hearts. When we pray, do we really have faith that He will answer our prayers or are we like the "doubting Thomas?" Are we also sure that our prayers reach our Heavenly Father or they just reach up to the clouds? God may have closed the windows for you, but without your realizing it, He will be opening doors for you. Just be patient; He has a thousand ways of answering your prayers. May He keep you in the hollow of His hands and get well soon!

Are you praying 4 better health in general or 4 specific health problems? God likes you to be specific about what u are praying about. He will answer one way or another in HIS time just remember it may not be the answer YOU want, but the answer HE knows you need to grow in your spiritual walk.

God answering our prayers doesn't mean God doing what we want.

Remember in the Bible the story of David. David's son was dying...he prayed and prayed...fasted and prayed...wept and prayed for God to heal his son. God did not.

You need to understand that God has a perspective you/we don't. You need to thank God for your suffering...I know that sounds backwards...but God knows more about suffering then any of us. Continue to pray and to seek him. The most important thing in this life...is the next life. He may or may not heal you but you have to know that either way is the right way. Ask him what he wants of you and then listen.

Yeah, he answers prayers, sometimes the answers aren't what you want. It's better if you serve him all the time and aren't just asking for help when you need it. Do you pray often and give thanks and talk to him frequently? Or, are you just praying suddenly for your health? I've noticed that if I'm always praying, he answers the prayers more obviously and quickly. Don't give up. He's listening!!

God does answer our prayers but we have to work for them as well. You say that you have been praying for a better live but what are you doing to help yourself. I am a firm believer in thanking God for the blessings that he gives us daily air to breath food to eat etc. Try changing the way that you pray. Start thanking him for the blessings that you receive daily no matter how small they are and then pray for the fact that he is changing you life a little each and every day. My wife prayed for patient on time and he took her to school on that subject. I suggested that she try thanking him for the patients that she already had and the patients that would be receiving . Guess what her patients started to grow stronger each and everyday
