It all comes down to money. Big corporations are the biggest polluters. They fund politics and media. They would lose money if EVERYONE knew they were killing the earth. Other people just don't care or want to believe that we've done this to ourselves.

Global warming is a cyclical thing. The Earth has been going through global warming and cooling since the beginning of time. Currently we are in a trend of warming because Mars is warming as well. This would point to the fact that maybe, just maybe, the sun is getting hotter and is showing more sun spots.

Global warming is a fad, just like Global cooling and the hole in the ozone. Everything is natural and to think that some people believe that we humans are more significant than Nature that we could effect the climate, then we need some humility.

I laugh when people talk about global warming...everyone says that it will wipe us out...yet they can't get the forecast correct for more than 3 days out...why is that? How can we be absolutely sure that humans are the cause of global warming when we don't even fully understand how climate works and how everything connect.

I'm sorry, I think in about 10 years, all eco-nuts will be onto something else...maybe the fact that space is cold and that the sun doesn't radiate enough heat to warm up the space around Earth.

Because no scientist can prove to me the "average" actual temperatures thousands of years ago.

As the earth has gone through Ice Ages & mini-ice age and many other "abnormal" weather patterns, how can you prove that what we are experiencing is a direct cause of pollution and NOT a normal fluctuation?

And truly, it is not that I do not believe that the earth is not getting warmer, it is. However, Europe & the US are refusing to look at the "big picture" and put regulations in place that will limit the two biggest causes of "global warming"... China & India.

China is set to exceed the US's emissions THIS year. And what are the leaders of our countries doing to stop that? NOTHING. All in the name of cheap crap for the masses. You do realize that in just the past 20 years China has destroyed the Yangtze river and erradicated the white dolphin? Meanwhile legislation is enacted that will plunge our economy into chaos while China grows and thrives and buys cars.

Stop global warming, quit buying products manufactured in countries that have no regulations and no organization's with any integrity.

Because it can at most be called "the study of the theory of global warming". Such scientific endeavours have no significant empirical data relative to the age and weather patterns of the Earth.
It's as though we've drawn ten people from New York and asked them a question, then presented their opinions as the complete factual encyclopedia of all thought in New York: the sample size is laughably small, the hypothesi are far from comprehensive, and calling global warming a supportable scientific conclusion makes mockery of science, suppport, and conclusions.
Despite its' support from B-grade celebrities and washed up former politicians global warming is only a theory in a sea of theories.

You are confusing "denial" with "giving a crap". The questions should be... "who is going to solve this problem?." Don't think you can count on the politicians. Not surprising when barely 40% of U.S. citizens vote in most elections. Global warming or not... each of us can take steps to be a better steward of the earth. But in the end, the people that are making decisions are the worst offenders of energy consumption. Lets stop electing hypocrits on both sides.

Because people are not used to this type of thing going on in the world so they are plain out paranoid and pretend it is not happening but if the government keeps ignoring the problem then the problem will get worst. But Global warming was also a lesson to show how much we take the earth for granted.I believe that why do we care all about mother earth now after the problem is happening but we should been in the same attitude when people were spraying pesticides on to our farms and killing Innocent animals.I believe earth is like a teenage girl who has been mentally scared. She was mentally scared and before it happened there were all these signs but people ignored it.But after something happened people are worrying about her now and it is too late. The teenage girl is Mother earth.Global warming is the thing affecting her.We need to stop it now.

unknown,

You might be confusing denial with lack of interest. I don't think anyone could deny (since glaciers used to extend clear down to Texas) that the globe is warming.

Many people believe that the effect we humans have isn't what caused the warming. It was happening long before humans existed.

The best we could do is deprive ourselves of a life free of hard work. Trust me, you don't want to go there.

Because it's not what people think it is. Maybe the Earth is warmer, but think about it. The Earth experienced a "Mini-ice Age" around the time of the American and French Revolutions. That's not long ago in Geological time. We're still adjusting. Also, if the ozone layer is depleting like liberals say it is, the world would get COLDER! Hello!
Oh, and in pre-historic times Antarctica was much warmer and had various plant and animal life. Animals adapt and life changes. The dinosaurs didn't freak out about them going extinct. Do yourself a favor and find something IMPORTANT to worry about.

I think most people are in denial because we live in a time where you have to see the effects in order to actually believe there's a problem. Unless something to improve global warming is enforced within the national govt's most people won't wake up until it's way too late.

Because there are many reasons for global warming and the media/liberals only talk about 1 reason. They suggest that global warming is only because of humans - our CO2 and other gaseous biproducts. While we do contribute a small fraction, animals, the sun, and the earth's natural cycle actually contribute much much more. We're not denying the earth is getting warmer, we're denying the claim that it is only caused by mankind.

because so many people rely on the things that are causing the global warming. we live in a world where we don't give back to our planet. eventually, though, what will we do when we caused all the destruction it can handle? the earth gives us so much, and we give back so little. people will stay in denial until something bad happens, that's just how people work. plus, having to work to make a living, and dealing with the stresses of daily life, doesn't make it easier. changes need to be made, though.
