Excellent Q!
2nd first "Let he who has no sin cast the first stone".
1st second "Forgive us our trespasses as we for give others".
We should not condemn a person for the same error we have made. These mistakes are usually done in anger, ignorance, or immaturity. Or selfishness - before growth.
To the exact extent we forgive others we are selves are released from the bondage of error.
Many people, not just Christians, are blind to their defects of character.
These are the true "crosses" we bear.
This in error in thinking and error in thought.
These keep us separated from God and seeing the beauty that is all about us at all times.
This also makes us individuals not automatons.
From each point of thought that is an error/sin/ wrong we have a path to truth. Most of us are on one or more paths to finding truth. This means each one of us have one or more mistakes in thinking.
To forgive ourselves is another difficulty.
He also asked God; "Forgive them for they know not what they do".

Jesus came lived loved died and was risen again. For the remission of sin.Christian moral standards are written in the Bible. Including life style choices. In other words if you talk the talk you need to walk the walk
You speak of forgiveness. I have no problems with these people, I do have a problem with what they do. I'm willing to let God do the judging. Hid judgments are written in the new Testament. SIN IS SIN

You are correct. In defense of my fellow followers in the faith that state that, many people believe that simply by stating that Christ died for our sins that they are spreading the gospel,. However, they forget that even though that is one part of the gospel of Christ, there are many other teachings that people sometimes forget to spread around. There are teachings about loving one's enemies. Many Christians have a problem with this scriptures, and in fact, seem to completely ignore that scripture--their actions certainly don't match with it. Christ told us to rejoice when people persecute us. Certainly, I don't see alot of that teaching going on on this forum. There are teachings that say the only way that others will know we are the disicples of Christ is by the way we LOVE everyone. Sadly, I can admit that sometimes Christians aren't so good about that at all. And, yes, you are correct, Christ taught many times about forgiving others.
Matthew 6:12 -- And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Matthew 18:21-22 -- Then Peter came and said to him, "Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?" Jesus said to him, "Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times."
Matthew 18:34-35 -- And in angerr his lord handed him over to be tortured until he would pay his entire debt. So my heavenly Father will also do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother or sister from your heart.
Mark 11:25 -- Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your trespasses.
Luke 6:37 -- Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Luke 11:4 -- And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us. And do not bring us to the time of trial.
Luke 17:3-4 -- Be on your guard! If another disciple sins, you much rebuke the offender, and if there is repentance, you MUST forgive. And if the same person sins against you seven times a day, and turns back to you seven times and says, "I repent, " you must forgive.
Ephesians 4:31-32 -- Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Colossians 3:12-13 -- As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one anotherand, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
All of these verses are in the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version) of Scripture. I hope this answers your question. Have a good day.

Cynic Keeper, can't you see how silly it is to judge anyone by appearance?
Jesus constantly harped on the theme that you will be judged by the same standard you use to judge other - forgive us our sins AS WE forgive those who sin against us - in the same way, to the same degree. Used all sorts of parable to re-enforce that message.
And he constantly reminded his followers NOT to judge.

There are many examples in the parables (the Prodigal Son), the sermon on the mount, in his own example of preventing the stoning of the adulterous woman.

In my life, Jesus continues to teach me to forgive and forget those who have injured me emotionally or verbally. To always have a soft answer which would pretty much stop anger in the other person in its tracks.
To consider the other person's feelings.
I must decrease and God must increase in my life.

if we can't forgive other how do we expect him to forgive us.. Also when judgement day come you and I are individually judge. Would it be far if we went to the court system today and i had done something wrong but they made you pay the price?? not it wouldn't...... My walk with God is an individual walk, but we that are Christians are a body with Christ being the head of our body.,. we all function differently but make up a body, can a finger funtions without a hand? not we all need each other,, but we are all individually walking with GOD...

by human nature we are all selfish. one of the worse ways we are selfish is by not giving all of our burdens to God the way we are supposed to and them blaming God when things do not go the way we except. I lost my son almost 3 years ago and i still feel selfish wanting him back. I know he's happy now and healthy now in the most joyous beautiful place he could ever be where we all long to be but in my heart i just cant totally accept God's will for me and not want him back. when it comes to forgiveness i feel its not my place to forgive God for taking back HIS son.

Christ forgave me of my sins- I am supposed to strive to be like Christ, therefore my desire should be to forgive others. He is the ULTIMATE example of forgiveness because without His forgiveness I would be doomed to hell.
