Since you obviously belive in reincarnation it is easy to assume that you follow an oriental religion (Hinduism). According to the hindu scriptures all beings get reincarnated as humans as that is the only "thing" that has the ability to proceed to heaven.
So, despise yourself all you like but continue working on the Karma to ensure you do not re-enter the cycle or re-incarnation for fear that you might yet again have to become a human.
