How many of you actually have read a bible all the way through, or did you doze off for some parts, and not understand it?

I have read several,as well as copies of the torah, koran, and other mythology from india, rome, etc.I found 2 types of information in most of them:
1. basic how to get along with each other advice
2. superhuman magic mumbo jumbo
I absorbed what works and is practical, and threw out the rest

Probably as often as you have dedicated time reading on biology, I understand the bible, and no I haven't read the whole thing and the several different verions of it. But from the stories I am familiar with I do understand that they teach a moral, not a fact. I don't have to read the entire dictionary in order to be lierate, I don't have to read the entire bible in order to have an opinion on those who follow it. Though if it helps any I have read several books that deal with human cultures around the world and many on world religons, do I do know what I'm talking about. And I think I am rather docile.

the only people preaching Armageddon is the christians.... well it's here and it's signifies the end of religion especially christianity.... mother nature has taken over the management of the earth full time.... she supports the atheists and their views. She inspires common sense above faith... she says the bible is insane so take it with a grain of salt if you read it... better to not read it at all if you think you'll believe in it... you can preach but don't get the sense of even the beginning of it... Christians are about to go up against god in the next few generations we'll see how you fare we non christians were murdered because of your religions in the past... it will be interesting to see how mother nature will deal with you for the lies you impose on the earth.

I read it once all the way as a child/young teen, once again as an adult through a church-based Bible study (attempting to gain religious belief), and a third time in a college Biblical literature course.
Really, it's not that difficult to understand, and it isn't as long as some people seem to think it is.
______________
I wouldn't characterize myself as angry, and I'm certainly not angry about the Bible. Some behaviors of Christians gets me irritated, sure, but that doesn't have anything to do with the book. As for "not understanding it" (as many here seem to think): it's not that difficult, kids.

I have read the entire bible cover to cover. And honestly, while it is a good story, that's all it is, a story. It's the world's oldest work of fiction.
Yes, I know I'm going to get a lot of negative feedback and thumbs down, but how can I be wrong for having an opinion?

I've read it several times. Have taken college classes to study it. Those experiences were the absolute event that cemented my atheists beliefs. Taken as a whole the bible is, at best, a collection of parables intended to teach lessons. Personally I think of it as nothing more than christian mythology, no different than ancient Greek or Roman mythology.

I have read the bible twice all the way through - once on my own as a teenager which helped form my current outlook and once as part of my comparative religions classes in college.
My mother attempted to indoctrinate me into the christian faith as a child so I understand plenty of it. I have just formed my own opinion on it after researching other theologies, sciences and social sciences.

I have read the Bible through several times.Did I fully understand it?No.I have read hundreds of books cover to cover.Have I understood them? No.I have pursued the unexplainable, the unexpected, the good, the bad and the indifferent.Did I understand it all? No.The great joy of life is the search for truth-and hopefully never quite finding it.But the ride is fantastic!

Read it quite a few times. It never passed the BS test. Haven't looked at it or cared about it in a while.
It's the understanding of it that made me an Atheist.
