I went to an ENT yesterday, after seeing my family doctor twice for an ear infection. He didn't mention an ear infection, but noticed either some scarring on my eardrum. He also mentioned maybe there is some type of mass behind my eardrum but can't tell, so I'm going Monday for a C.T. scan. I was told to stop using q-tips, as I have been using them daily, as far as they fit in my ear. I thought that's what they were for.. =\ Anyway, it's possible that if I stop using the q-tips, maybe this will heal up on it's own, so he says. I'm having a hard time believing they could cause this much damage, as I have been dizzy and had headaches with the ear problems. Is it really possible for q-tips to cause such things?! I hope so. Because the term "mass" kinda worries me.

the word mass is worrisome indeed but whatever qtips do is outside the eardrum not on the other side. and the damage from qtips is worsening of ear wax which should not cause dizziness and headaches, it commonly causes hearing difficulty. please do let me know how your ct scan turns out, I am surious and wish you all the best
