Dale Jr wouldn't be what he is today if his dad hadn't died.

He's not as good as Kennseth, Newman, Johnson, Edwards, Stewart, and many more.

He only has a famous name he inherited the fame.

No matter your personal opinion of Junior, you are in denial if you think he will ever perform on the same level as Jeff Gordon. Gordon is one of the best drivers of the modern era, and Junior is not. Three years ago, when Gordon was the age Dale is now he already had won multiple championships. While Junior is indeed a great driver, you are the moron if you believe his success will ever pass Gordon's

The only reason Jr is so well known is because of his father and he doesnt have anything close to the stats that Gordon does or even his father. All he has is his fathers last name and a ride at his fathers company until the end of the year because thye wouldnt give him majority ownership. I doubt that will ever happen because Jeff has so many reocords that I doubt someone will ever break them. Go #24!!!!

Dale Jr. is already great. Talent is the man.....Once Jeff Gordon retires. Tony Stewart and Dale Jr. will be the greats.

No way. Jeff Gordon has been a dominant driver in every racing series he has been in since he was a kid. Junior has been successful enough to make to Nextel Cup, but has never been dominant like Gordon has. Jeff is one of the best of all time, Junior is one of the most popular or time.

Well, simply no
Why?
It is because as the years go the NASCAR competition will be much wilder and will vary with many drivers. At the era where Jeff won 10 races in a year it was almost 3 people dominating the season while now it's about 4-5 people who you have to beat, INCLUDING Jeff himself.
So, to sum it up, it's gonna be really tough for Jr. to be as great as Gordon
But he can still be if hes got nothing else to worry about.
But it seems hes got too many to worry about now that he's penalized and about to leave DEI and join another organization, which takes a lot of thinking. But i believe he can start winning 3-4 races in a season after hes with a more stable organization liek Hendricks and Gibbs.
I really believe if he turns to Hendricks he can become great, but with not a lot of room, as its crowded with NASCAR's best.

Let's take out the word "great" and use "successful". No Dale Jr. will not be as successful as Gordon.

like him or not, jeff gordon is a great driver and a better one than Jr., i don't think Jr. will even come close to winning as many races as jeff gordon. although Jr. is just as famous, if not more famous than gordon, his name isn't going to line the record books like gordon's

FIRST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE TO SAY I AM A JEFF GORDON FAN AND HAVE BEEN FOR 16 YEARS!!
NO JR. WILL NEVER CATCH JEFF
FACT IS JR. IS 32 YEARS AND JEFF IS 35 JUST 3 YEARS BETWEEN THEM!!
JR KNOWS HE WILL NEVER REACH JEFF'S RECORD OR HIS DADS
I LIKE JR. AND I HOPE THEY WILL MAKE ROOM FOR HIM AT HENDRICKS!!
THESE TEAMS AT HENDRICKS HELP EACH OTHER AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES THEM GREAT!! TEAM WORK
LOOK WHAT JIMMIE HAS DID IN THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS!!
I CAN SEE JR WINNING RACES AND CHAMPIONSHIPS AT HENDRICKS
HE IS A GREAT GUY AND AM HAPPY HE IS LEAVING DEI THEY WERE JUST MESSING WITH HIS HEAD

I am huge Gordon fan; but Jr. is very young, lots of years ahead of him. I have to say the jury is still out on this one.

However, if he continues to race the way he does right now....no he will never enjoy the success the Jeff Gordon is enjoying.

He's not even in the same league as Gordon. Gordon is one of the all time greats and Jr. is good. That is all.
