Well, the good die young. Jerry lived to a ripe, obese old age.
As a side note, I blame the ACLU, abortionists and homosexuals for his death. After they caused 9/11, he was their logical next target.

We all die, some early and some late. We don't ask if children were terminated early because their job was done. Try to show some compassion, whether Falwell did or not. Be the better person.

Well, we all gotta exit the party at some point, eh?
No rationale to when, though. The good die young and some nutcakes just go on and on...
Jerry's purpose? I dunno. I'm sure HE thought his purpose was to "serve the Lord," but the poor guy just lost contact with reality at some point. I also think that knowing millions of people listen to your every word is a kind of aphrodisiac.
My purpose?
I just try to balance out my life between enjoying all the pleasures of the flesh, loving my family, and helping others in need. That works for me.

He was an absolutely despicable human being. His "purpose" was to rally ignorant bigots around a message of intolerance and hatred masquerading as "God's Word." I can't say I mourn the loss! Good riddance.
Sorry. Am I not "being the better person"? Whatever. I'm not going to pretend he was anything other than what he unfortunately was. The mere fact of his death doesn't lend him an air of dignity, and I have no more respect for him now that he's worm food than I did when he was stuffing his own fat face.

We die when it's our time to die - young, old, or somewhere in between. Falwell had some pretty radical ideas and not all Christians, including me, agreed with what he thought and preached. You cannot go around saying the things that man said and expect people to respect you!

He was 73. I don't think that was particularly early. Not late, but not early. I'm not sure of all of his purpose here on earth but I do believe that once you have fulfilled it, God calls you home.

Yeah, I'm sure God couldn't wait to have Falwell sit next to him. Imagine the look on Jesus's face when Falwell walks in.

I wouldn't call it early. A lot of people don't reach 73.
