My bottom front teeth are really aching, not sure if it could be from ice packs, teeth moving after extraction. It really hurts and is starting to get really annoying as I can't sleep and pain killers aren't stopping it. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced it and how long for and what to do about it?

I had the same thing happen. The dentist told me that there is a phenomena where teeth can get something almost like sympathy pains when another tooth is traumatized. It went away after 2 weeks.

I had mines pulled 5 days ago and the first big teeth on the bottom hurts. My doc said everything is healing fine. Sometimes teeth were moved slightly or moving slightly from not having the pressure of the wisdom tooth pushing them. She said it will go away in about another week. Just continue to brush and use an easy slide floss so I don't floss too hard and cut up the gums there. I just took the pain meds as directed. The pain was much worse about day 3 but now day 5, it still hurts once in a while but not too bad. don't use ice packs after 24. Switch to a heating pad or warm towel. Promotes healing. If the pain meds are not working, then it might be dry socket. I heard if you suck in air, you feel a sharp pain. And there's a foul smell/taste from the hole. I would see teh dentist to make sure everything is healing on track. Good luck!

I'm not being a jacka$$, it's the truth. i had all my wisdom teeth cut out and 4 teeth in the front pulled at the same time (because of the pain factor--only wanted to go through it once) and i drank beer all the time. i had only ache then and i could sleep. note to you---keep the holes clean where the teeth came out, multiple times a day---trust me.

My doctor gave me vicodin after getting my wisdom teeth removed. I never felt any pain.

HELLO E.J.,
ICE IS ONLY EFFECTIVE WITHIN THE FIRST 24 HOURS, AFTERWARD WARM MOIST COMPRESSES SHOULD BE USED. WARM MOIST TOWELS ARE EXCELLENT.
THE USE OF IBUPROFEN (ADVIL) CAN HELP IN DEREASING THE SWELLING. IN A FEW DAYS YOU'LL BE MUCH BETTER.
