Rev. Jerry Falwell, the television evangelist who founded the Moral Majority and used it to mold the religious right into a political force, died Tuesday shortly after being found unconscious in his office at Liberty University. He was 73.
RIP Rev Falwell you were truly an inspiration to all of the believers and a true crusader for christ.

Are you kidding me?! He was a hate monger. He was a wedge against christians and non christians.
How can we ever bring anyone closer to Jesus's teachings if we are calling them names?
Give me a break. I put Jerry Falwell right up there with Jeffery Dalmer. A freak.
When are Christians going to stop being so self rightous and remember what humility is?
Jerry Falwell hurt people. Pushed people away from God. That is something to honor?

I never liked him but I'd never wish ill on the dead or his family. Jerry Falwell was in my opinion the antithesis of what it means to be a good Christian. He said one thing and did another. And unfortunatley he was the cause of much hatred toward Christians by non Christians with his 9/11 claims and the telatubby gay thing and picking up a hooker etc., etc. and all the other Christians are looking at eachother and saying when is he gonna shut up and stop putting words in all Christian mouths regardless of our denominations! Speak for yourself Jerry!!!

First of all, i'd say a few guys named peter and paul might be slightly more important in converting people to christianity. there's also somebody named billy graham. in addition to being more famous than rev. falwell, billy graham didn't feel the need to go on anti-teletubby spiels and the like, or reguarly commit hate crimes.

Sorry, I won't waste more than a moment's "G-d bless" towards Falwell. He showed so much hate towards others.. I can't say I mourn his passing at all. I'm sorry for his friends and families, but for the rest of us? Nope.

You wish to honor a man who spoke of Jesus out of one side of his mouth and on the other spoke of hate. He supported segregation, South America apartheid, hatred of gays and pagans, he preyed on the weak willed and the down and out segment of society and became filthy rich off the backs of the poor. The world is a better place without Falwell in it.

I guess this is your personal opinion of the man. However, if you read the other questions, you will see that many did not like him at all. Some may toss out shouts of joy while you have a moment of silence.
Personally, I did not agree with the man but I am not happy he died.

I don't think he was much more than a bombastic bigot who preached hate and discrimination. In America it was supposed to be a seperation between church and state not a union. Don't tell me I should respect the destruction of the Constitution.
