best semi automatic i ever owned. i feel it is better than a berretta too. which i have owned too. i had my pt92 over 10years and fired thousands of rounds out of it and never hung up or jamed. of all the auto's i ever owned it the best.

gotta ask, is a Glock 20 or 21 too small. They are pretty big in the grip and the 10mm is pretty kick butt but not cheap. If you love the super you could consider a Sig in 357 Sig. Not too cheap again but sometimes available at the big stores at a decent price and a killer cartridge. I got sold on glocks but think I may have to find a Kimber 1911 soon...or a compact Glock in 357 Sig or a....oh my bucket list is far bigger than my pocket. I'm guessing your 908 is just of the vintage that really wasn't designed to digest a variety of expanding bullets....but can't recall any probs like that with my 39..if I can remember that far back...but I do know there were few good expanding bullets back then. I had a taurus 92 for a short time along with several Berettas. It shot about as well but I would spend the extra bucks for the beretta for reasons mentioned above. For the record i loved the Beretta 92's in 9mm, very accurate and dependable. I do miss that nice trigger and accuracy. Just takes more work with a glock

The Taurus is not a Beretta 'clone' or 'knockoff'.....that's a myth........it's actually legally licensed by Beretta for Taurus to make in a factory and on machinery that Beretta built, so it's a lot more legitimate than people give it credit for.
Beretta controls the quality at the Taurus manufacturing plant, so the guns are almost indisguishable.
Have a friend that I go shooting with and he has a couple of thousand rounds through it with no issues. I have shot it and found it to be quite acceptable, although I'd still like my Browning Hi-Power better.
The only downside to the Taurus is resale value.....but if you are gewtting a good deal on the front end that's what you get.

I fired the gun once. It's a Beretta 92FS clone and it is well made. If you like the Beretta, then the Taurus should do you fine.
The downside, however, to both the Beretta and the Taurus is that the gun is too big for a 9mm. If you have large hands, then perhaps it is a plus. But the gun's size makes concealability more difficult, and it is a handful for small or medium hands.
More modern 9mms are slimmed down and more compact, taking advantage of the cartridge's slim profile.

Owned 3 and shot 2 of them. In my opinion, they are no different than the Berettas, in that they are not of the best quality handguns. I would go for a Taurus before I bought the Beretta though....
.... Yes the military issues Berettas...blah blah blah....if only you knew it was because they had the lowest bid when the contract was filled.
In my opinion you would be better off spending the money on a different model Taurus, as most of them are excellent guns. This one is different because of the design that is a copy of the Beretta.

I had one back in the late 1980's.
It was a great pistol. 100% reliable and as accurate as you can expect a service pistol to be.
It was also the most polite auto-pistol I've ever owned. It would uniformly drop the fired brass in a small area about six feet back and about three feet to the right. I got into the habit of laying down a piece of newspaper and most of the brass would land on the paper. It sure made policing brass easy.
It is a bulky pistol and if you don't have big hands, it might not fit you.

haven't had the pleasure of shooting the PT92 but I own a PT111Pro and have never had any problems with function of the gun at all. It will eat the center out of a ten ring at 8yds. I use it for concealed carry so I havent taken it past 8yds.
