He told the disciples he could have called angels down if he wanted (and really one angel is enough to wipe out the whole world). He could have definitely defended himself, he voluntarily didn't.

Jesus is really God, He is the Word of God in human form. Jesus could have called legions of angels to bring Him down off of the cross but, instead He willfully sacrificed His life. Matthew 26:53.

Read John Chapter 1. It just totally amazes me when I read about how the soldiers were beating Jesus & the Bible says he could have called legions (12 thousand is a legion) of angels but he didn't because he loves us all so much he knew that he had to be crucified so that we can live. What a great example!!! Were so not worthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus is God. When He died He could in fact defend Himself but He chose to humble Himself in order to die. He healed so many people of course He could have saved Himself but He chose not to. The whole point of His death is the sacrifice that He made for us. He gave up His life in order to give us life.

He could have saved himself, that's what makes it so special. He sacrificed his life because he loves us all so much!
If he had not died, he wouldn't have been the ultimate sacrifice.

Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are three in one, the Trinity. It's hard to understand, you just have to believe it.

Jesus died because that was the only way to bring salvation to believers.
God had planned this from the beginning, and yes God became flesh ( Jesus Christ, as John 1:1 says) and he died and suffered on the cross, then He rose again! He defeated death to show that He has the victory over death, and we who believe have the victory THROUGH Him, when we believe and put our faith in Him. We are born again, given a new heart- are made a new creation through Him- justified by our faith.
(See Romans 10)
The entire point of Christ's death and resurrection is his salvation to us, is that death had NO hold on us who believe and definately had no hold on Him!- it can only be THROUGH Him, there is no one else that we can be saved by as Acts says. Jesus Christ who had NO sin, ( only God has no sin) he became sin and took our punishment so we could live with him eternally- and He rose again, defeated death, and we who are saved in Him have also defeated death through Him----we are given the kingdom of Heaven and have passed from judgment to life--Saved from sin and hell. For it was because of sin that Jesus Christ had to die-- don't you see? We have all sinned against God, as Romans 3:23 says- and the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23
The only way to be set free from sin and hell is to repent of sin and put our faith in Jesus Christ.....we become justified when we put our faith in Him, and sanctified in His Holy Spirit ( See Ephesians 1)
Salvation is NOW! The entire point to our lives is JESUS!
We all need His salvation, for there is nothing more important!
