I have met plenty of people from the internet, people i have spoken to for years. They were all decent and we got on well, but then i was not looking for a boyfriend etc.
You should be very very careful who you meet and where you meet the person. If you live with friends or something ask them to accompany you and sit not so far from your table or better still let them phone you after about an hour chatting to this guy and you can then use it as an excuse to get away if he is not what you thought he was or if you decide to stay make sure you stay where there are other people around. Please you don't want to take chances. I wish you luck and may it all work out right for you.

Yes I have and we have been married for five and a half years now with four beautiful children. She lived in texas and I lived in indiana. I met her online and flew out to her prom in Texas about nine months after we met online. When she graduated she moved the next day up to indiana and has be happy ever since. If you do meet up with him have a friend go without him knowing. Meet him in a public place where there are lots of people and have him wear something that will make him stand out because he is the male and should do that. If he turns out to be who he really is meet him if not leave with your friend as if it never happened and change your im name on your isp.

Like meeting any person, sometimes it goes really well, sometimes...less so. The key to meeting an internet date is keeping things in the public domain for a while until you get to know hima bit. There are scary people out there, and if this guy really likes you, he'll understand some basic precautions, and will probably be taking a few of his own

I met with a guy once who I met on the Internet and it was perfectly fine. I had some friends show up at the restaurant and watch me just in case. I think if you want to meet up for a drink have him invite some friends and you invite friends so it will be real comfortable.

Only other moms from a pregnancy support group after the kids were born. It worked out just fine, we had all become good online friends over 9 months and met in a public place.

I have a few times and it has been hit and miss. It's always fun to meet new people though so you should definitely give it a shot. Make sure you go somewhere where there are a lot of people though. You can never be too safe with all the nut jobs that are out there. Let me know how it goes.

Yes. I have met with someone I sold something on ebay she turned out to be my best friend I've known her now for 4 years. But be very carefull I think if you want to meet someone you met online the best way to do it is in a very public place like in a starbucks or something. Good luck!

I think you should meet him for lunch instead, no drinking, and bring a friend.

Going out by yourself drinking with some guy you met on the internet at night isn't a smart idea. Ever hear of Roofies?

I met my girlfriend on the internet and we've been together for 8 years now. I think its okay to meet up with someone as long as its in a public place with people around.
